One of the positions we didn't address in the draft was DE.
How is our pass rush better than last year ?
a) better DT rotation and push up the middle ?
b) better coverage downfield with Dre K ?
c) The return of Dontay Moch ?
d) Geathers contract year ?
e) More from Lawson ?
f) none of the above, our pass rush will be worse........
Anything I've missed ? _________________ " I imagine that in Paul McCartneys' house, he must have a shelf with the 12+ great 'Beatles' studio albums neatly stacked. At times, he must rock back in a chair, light a cigar and say to himself, '....not bad for a life's work......' " |

The X factors are:
1) What can Moch contribute? He is a third rounder...
2) Can MJ and Dunlap improve?
3) Will adding two more penetrating DT's take some pressure off Atkins and improve the rush up the middle?
4) Will Harvey or Anderson give the team anything?
If those are negatives, the pass rush could be real bad... _________________

Yup, thats my main fear now approaching the season, can we get to the QB consistently ? _________________ " I imagine that in Paul McCartneys' house, he must have a shelf with the 12+ great 'Beatles' studio albums neatly stacked. | I think it all hinges on Dunlap. If he has a year like the last 8 games of his rookie year we should be fine. |

Agreed. If he plays like that along with Atkins and the rest of the DTs that will allow MJ or whomever the RE is to thrive _________________

I think we will be fine, we've improved the D-line and Db's, but what concerns me is the LB play. I think we can get get torn apart by the short passing game. Our LB'er aren't really good on Pass Coverage! _________________

Yeah if Dunlap can stay healthy I won't be worried about the pass rush. I can't wait to see what moch can do! |

| I'm not worried about Dunlap. A better DT rotation will help the pass rush. MJ is the huge question mark and I think he can get the job done. As others said it will be interesting to see how we use Moch. I am also intrigued by Harvey and Anderson. |

This is where i'm at. Dunlap, Geno, and Still should be a nice 3/4 of the line, and I think we'll see more blitzing from Lawson this year. Moch and/or Harvey could see some time as a situational rush end trying to set the edge. Harvey intrigues me more than Anderson, this is far and away the best situation he has been a part of in regards to having the least amount of attention paid to him.
It's put up or shut up time for Michael Johnson. He either breaks out and has a huge year, or we're looking at DE in rd 1 in the 2013 draft. _________________

I am not as worried about MJ as others seem to be. With Dunlap out, o-lines focused on stopping him. If everyone stays relatively healthy, he should be fine, especially if the rotation remains deep. Add to that his contract year is here, and i think he produces. _________________
