As we fast approach the draft, and with all these mocks flying around, I thought I'd start a, (lame), mock draft competition. Something similar was run on another forum a few years ago (Packers I think).

We might yet sign guys like Brandon Johnson, but assuming FA is over, lets draw all the mocks together, and score them.

We have 9 picks; correctly picking #17 scores 9 points, picking #21 scores 8 points...........6th rounder scores one point etc etc. (edit: If you pick the right guy, but in the wrong draft position, you get half the points that position is worth. No trade-ups/ trade-downs. UDFA's do not score).

First prize is a chewed up copy of the 1993 Bengals v Rams 'Gameday'; (my first visit to 'Riverfront'); which I will be happy to mail to anyone living on the main land UK.

Here's my mock.....

1. 'LondonBengal'
1a. CB STEPHON GILMORE
1b. WR STEPHEN HILL
2. RB DOUG MARTIN
3. OG BRANDON BROOKS
4. DT KHEESTON RANDALL
5a. DE TREVOR GUYTON

For now, I say...

1a. Decastro. Somebody has to fall, if we are lucky, it's him.

1b. Stephen Hill WR He's raw, but has everything you look for in starting WRs. He can block, is tall, and had one of the top 40 times at the combine. Sorta reminds me of another former GT WR coming out (Calvin Johnson)
2 Brandon Boykin CB Solid SEC performer who can play the ball and also help in the return game.

3. LeMichael James. Yeah he's too small to be an every-down back in the AFCN. Guess what? He will rotate in our backfield and provide more return ability. I would have loved either martin or Miller in round two, but we need the CB there more.

4. Antonio Allen S Seems like the all-around safety type that Zimmer covets. Since i think Barron is gone before we draft at 21, Allen goes here

5. Vontaze Burfict MLB Marvin loves reclamation projects, so here is his new one. Hopefully we get more out of him that we did with Odell.

5b. marcus Fortson DT Great potential and talent, but injury causes the slide.

5c. Any OT. The one The Duke loves would be fine here.

6. No idea at this point.

All of this, i fell, will be moot come draft day, as Marvin uses the lower round picks to move up.

Nothing wrong with a project 5th round LB. But we took Odell in the 2nd which made the pick so poor.

Odell wasn't a project, he was ready to play right away. He was a character concern. Burfict is both.

I think this is my favorite mock draft and I would be very happy if the first 4 picks went like that. I will be shocked if Amini makes it out of the 1st though.
