Looks like Carmichaels gonna get his chance to shine. I'm honestly not THAT worried about losing Payton for a year, it certainly sucks, a lot but I think Carmichael will keep us competitive.

Payton for the whole year is just ridiculous. The rest of the penalties are reasonable.

.........That's not bad?

I mean, sucks we lose Peyton, but Carmichael has shown he can run an offense smoothly. After he took over the play calling the 2nd half of the seaosn, we looked fantastic. With Spags as DC, we should be fine in that sense. What we'll miss is calls like the superbowl onside kick, but I'm sure we'll work on it throughout the year.

The picks are not that bad either. I mean, I was scared it would be much more harsh, a 2nd both years isn't too bad. It also allows us to have a 3rd to pick a good player with!

Loomis for 8 games is the biggest loss imo. He knows how to pull talent from random places throughout the year. He needs haul behind in the offseason.

Not as bad as I thought in my honest opinion.

Well, we will have to suck it up and get ready for a Payton-less year. I have faith in Carmicheal, that is if he gets named for the Interim, it could be Spags for all we know. But I am expecting Carmichael.

Deserved punishments. I support them all fully.

How does this impact Brees and his chances of returning?

Seems harsh considering the Pats didn't have any suspensions for cheating...which effects the competitive balance much more than the Saints screw up. Don't get me wrong, the Saints deserve to be punished...but I think that the penalties don't match the crime.

So with Payton getting a full year that is in effect April 1, does that mean he misses not only the season but the draft and next year's FA period?
