We would be open to trading either our high 5th, or swapping 4ths for Rivers.

Based on the value received in the first FFMD, his potential as only being 3 years removed from a top ten pick, and his moderate salary that's a very low-ball offer.

Considering he hasn't lived up to expectations and is a fringe starter at this point in his career, we think that is about what he would fetch in real life. Rivers still has some upside, but so would a high 5th round pick.

We are not looking to be aggressive in the trade market and are just looking for low-end deals for players such as Rivers who can add depth and compete.

The only reason he's a fringe starter is becuase he hadn't fully recovered from his wrist injury last season. If so, we'd have never signed Thomas Howard last offseason and he'd be a garaunteed starter. The Bengals would never let him go at a 5th round pick. We're willing to swap picks, or other options like that, but it'd have to be in a higher round. Again I'd have to talk to my co-gm.

Rivers upside, considering age and potential blows away that of a 5th round pick.

thoughts?

Liked what you had to say in your war room... so I just put it out to our war room about pursuing B-Rob and paraphrased some of your thoughts.

I think the early proposal would be something along the lines of a 3rd in 2012 and another pick in 2013 - like a 5th.

TBH I think his stats last year were skewed because (1) he was starting for the first time and (2) he was playing opposite Jared Allen. You can line just about anyone opposite Jared Allen and they should get 6 or 7 sacks... lmao... which is what we thought Mario would do for our defense.... ah well....

Once I get some feed back from my council, I will post in your war room..

Pass, 4th would be the highest I would go. 4-3 backers aren't a premium. We could likely grab a Travis Lewis or Danny Trevathan in round 4. While Rivers could be an upgrade over Brinkley, I'm content with our starters going foward.

What about something like our 4th for Rivers and a 5th?

That would value Rivers as a mid-4th. I wouldn't go any higher than that though.

I'd be on board with that, doubt they take it.

Talks for Rivers have stalled, we will revisit it during the draft depending on how things play out.

They said they might be interested in packaging Rivers and a pick to move up in the 2nd depending on who falls. I said we could talk about it as things progress in the draft.

What value would you guys want for #3 if the Chiefs were interested in dealing up from #11? Just curious, GM here.

Pretty much what is listed on the trade chart, but we will listen to any offers. We will take future picks, young players, etc.

I received an offer for Robison:

Robison
6th
7th
7th

for
3rd
2013 3rd

it values Robison at 400 points on the trade chart (mid-2nd).

What do you guys think?

Nah. Regardless of the value, we already know what we have in Robison, no need to open up another hole.

if it's a high 3rd rounder, I'd do it.

would free up griffin at the DE spot. Despite reasonably good play by robison, I'm not sold on him. Disappears a little too often for my taste and has problems finishing his moves.

Sure, it's a bit of a gamble, I'd take it. This draft is loaded with talent from mid-2 to mid-4.
