Hey everyone. FFMD is back in time for the 2012 NFL Draft. I've been hired as the GM for the Ravens this time around and I'll need help from some of you guys going forward. This is going to be a lot shorter than the previous FFMD, which helps because we're only going to have to focus on the draft (and trades if we choose). I've copied and pasted a few helpful things from the previous FFMD and will be making updates on anything that can be considered helpful as we go along.
FFMD12 II: Baltimore Ravens War Room

Dates and Deadlines
4/3: GM and Writer Announcements
4/4: Assembling of team staffs and war rooms begin; trading begins
4/5: Rosters frozen
4/6: Staffs finalized, trading continues
4/9: Draft begins

Baltimore Ravens Roster
Staff Positions
Assistant General Manager - Your job is to seek out trades and aid me in making personnel decisions. Your primary role is trade coordinator and consultant. You are both responsible for providing an accurate list of who is on a trade block and, if possible, which teams are showing interest in those players. RAVINGMADD
Head Coach - Your job is to confer with the Offensive Coordinator and the Defensive Coordinator to evaluate what positions on the roster need to be improved. drd23
Offensive Coordinator - Your job is to evaluate every position on our offensive depth chart and determine which positions need to be addressed and when. Flaccomania
Defensive Coordinator - Your job is to evaluate every position on our defensive depth chart. Determine our weaknesses, prioritize our needs on this side of the ball, and decide which of our Free Agents on defense need to be brought back. coordinator0
Directors of College Scouting - Your job is to coordinate our big board by working with our scouts. You must work with the Scouts, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Head Coach, General Manager, and Assistant General Manager to determine which positions are best served being addressed through the draft. RAVINGMADD
Senior Collegiate Scout - Takes on normal scouting duties as well as serving as an assistant to the Director of College Scouting. Should the Director of College Scouting be unable to perform their duties at any given time the Senior Collegiate Scout will take over for that period of time. The Senior Collegiate scout will be required to come up with scouting strategies with the Director of College Scouting. STrid
Director of Media Relations - Your job is to synopsize our transactions and provide them to the game writers as press releases. Your opinion is allowed. I must approve of the release. You must be a good writer who employs proper grammar. diamondbull424
East Coast Regional Scout - Assigned to the East Coast region. You must report on all draftable players in your region and give them grades. Which positions you focus on are directed by the Director of College Scouting, the General Manager, and the Assistant General Manager. rmthawk64
Scouts - You are assigned to a region or conference you regularly watch. You must report on all draftable players in your region or conference and give them grades. Which positions you focus on are directed by the Director of College Scouting, the General Manager, and the Assistant General Manager. I will accept users from other boards for some of these positions, but you must be comprehensive, consistent, reliable, and punctual. You answer first to the Director of College Scouting teams' boards. Must be comprehensive. Must be reliable. Must be able to meet deadlines. Ideally, I would have multiple scouts per region/conference, but I understand that is not always going to be possible.
ACC / SEC Scout -
Big East / Big Ten Scout -
Pac-12 / Big 12 Scout -
Independent / C-USA / MAC / MWC / Sun Belt / WAC Scout -
D-FCS / D-II / D-III / JuCo Scout -
Evaluations of Free Agents and College Players should be formatted as follows:
Name - Position - Year/Class OR NFL Experience - Team (Either college or previous NFL team)
Measurements (Height, Weight, and Projected .40 if a college player)
2011 Statistics
Career Statistics
Strengths
Weaknesses
Grade: At the best of your ability give the player you have scouted a letter grade. This grade is not the end all be all of how the player will be evaluated but it will help keep things organized. Do not feel as if all grades are finalized, they will be evaluated a second time by upper management.
4 (A): Star Starter: Would immediately replace the person at his position on the roster and excel.
3 (B): Potential Starter: Would challenge to start or at the very least serve as a rotational guy.
2 (C): Rotational Depth: Could rotate in and produce with limited action.
1 (D): Depth: Would not start, should not be counted on as a rotational player. Would displace a depth player he would be replacing.
0 (F): No fit: Either doesn't fit our scheme or is not worth picking up.
I'm going to update this post with whatever I or anyone else feels needs to be included. If we don't get people to sign up for every position then some roles may change slightly. First let's get signups out of the way, and then we can really get rolling. _________________

| I'll take Director of College Scouting. Or if someone more qualified wants to be Director of College Scouting, I can be the Senior Collegiate Scout. |

I'll help out here in whatever role I can. Probably could do some scouting and/or play a role as a coordinator. Perhaps the Offensive Coordinator. _________________

I'll do a little scouting.
Prefer East coast/B1G type stuff, but really down for anything. _________________ When you go in the lion's den, you don't tippy toe in — you carry a spear, you go in screaming like a banshee, you kick whatever doors in, and say, 'Where's the SOB?' If you go in any other way you're gonna lose. |

Hi Guys, just stopping by to see if there's any interest in any of our players on the block.
Pick #9
QB- Jimmy Clausen
RB-JStew or DWill, not both.
OT- Jeff Otah
DE/LB- Eric Norwood
WLB- Thomas Davis
CB- Captain Munnerlyn
CB- Darius Butler
FS- Sherrod Martin
If you have interest in any other players, just shoot me a PM. Some will be untouchable but we might be willing to move some for the right price. _________________

^ He's back!
I'd be happy to give input into our picks but I don't think I'll have the time to actually write up scouting reports for individual players _________________

The most important thing is that we have an assistant GM. obviously I'd like to have the other positions filled, but that's the biggest priority right now. _________________

I think you might have to do a little recruiting, I remember having to go through a few names and PM them about FFMD and to give input and in the end, it helped.
coordinator0 was borderline interested in the GM spot, perhaps he'd make a good assistant GM? _________________

Only borderline because the end of the semester is coming up in a couple of weeks. I don't have the time to invest in it right now. |
