FFMD '12 Draft: Part Two
Good evening ladies and gents... you have officially stumbled upon FFMD 12: Part two, dos, deux, dva.... There is no better version, this proven by your appearance here as well as the fact that this is 2x more awesome than FFMD1 (where do you think we got the two from). Come on in and take your seats in these incredibly comfy chairs fit for a member of team management.

Now LISTEN UP: Like FFMD1 the time slots for Round 1 will also be 90 minutes (1.5 hrs) and the time slots for rounds 2-7 will be 60 minutes (1 hr) time slots.

The Draft Begins on April 9th. All listed time slots (TBA) shall be on EST.

You can make your pick at any point while you are on the clock or if those picking ahead of you have already made their selections. You are not obligated to make your selection, however, until your team's slot period has officially ended. If you do not make a selection in your time period, you will be skipped.

If your GM and AGM for some reason are unavailable, any member listed on the first post of your war room can make the pick. But in this instance, the mods will scan your war room to make sure a consensus was reached. If this does not appear to be the case, we reserve the right to void the pick.

Be Advised: This thread is ONLY for your listed draft picks. NO discussion is to take place in this thread, any comments/critiques should be placed in the FFMD 12 (Part 2): GDT, thanks!

Once a selection is made and a player taken- there will be no trades involving drafted players. These trades IRL are extremely rare and almost never happen, so there's no reason why we should do them here.

GMs, be sure to post and update your staff member positions in your War Room. If at a later date, someone is added to your staff and have been given draft credentials, please PM either myself- diamondbull424, ReggieCamp, or stillersenat.

For the purposes of this draft we will be using the official draft order for the NFL draft as provided by and listed below- these include the awarded compensatory picks and take into account IRL trades/factors. We will update this draft order based on trades that have been made and approved during the course of this mock draft. Teams get ready, get set... (now you just have to wait until this thread is unlocked and your team is on the board to) go!

Colts select QB Andrew Luck

Sorry not sure what happened to our GM he knew the pick was due.
Hopefully it ok for me to make the pick since I'm neither GM or AGM

I'm not sure where Redskins24-7 is but this is a no brainer for us.

The Washington Redskins select:

Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor

The Washington Redskins have needed a franchise qb since before I was born and that was in 1979 my friends. We have tried and tried multiple ways, trades and picks over the last 33 years to obtain a true franchise qb. We have not been able to do so, but us Redskins fans believe RG3 is the "truth." The true qb that our franchise has been missing for over 30 years. We know we had to give up a lot to get him but we believe he is worth it, we believe he will help to get this franchise out of mediocrity or worse shape that it has been in for the last twenty years. We believe RG3 has more upside than any player in this draft and although he isn't as polished of a qb coming out as Luck is, we think RG3's potential for greatness is better. So we are elated to have our first shot at a franchise qb since we selected Heath Shuler in the 1994 draft, 18 years ago.

MN selects OT Matt Kalil, USC

With the 7th pick in the 2012 FFMD NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select...

Justin Blackmon, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State

We all know how Jacksonville has not had a thousand-yard receiver since Jimmy Smith wore teal. Now, through this off-season, we have established a great probability that we have at least one receiver capable of doing so as we have added Laurent Robinson and, now, Justin Blackmon. People are concerned about Blackmon's size and speed, but he plays big and he plays fast. He is somewhat raw in his route running, but we have one of, if not the, best WR coaches in Jerry Sullivan, so he will be in good hands (pun honestly not intended). Our WR corps will likely compose of:

WR1: Laurent Robinson
WR2: Justin Blackmon
WR3: Mike Thomas
4-6: Cecil Shorts III, Jarett Dillard, Chastin West/Taylor Price/Brian Robiskie/Whoever

That group looks a lot better with the addition of Robinson and Blackmon.

Welcome to Jacksonville!

With the 10th pick the Bills select...

David Decastro

I like Urbik but an interior line of Wood, Levitre, and Decastro is to good to pass up. Our Oline is now set for the next 10 years. Our oline problems were not shown because Gailey was forced to use quick drops and passes. Now we have a oline and can have deeper passes. Our starting lineup up front now consists of Light, Levitre, Wood, Decastro, and Pears.

With the eleventh overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select DT Dontari Poe, Memphis.

With the addition of Dontari, the Kansas City Chiefs defensive line is growing stronger. With Tyson Jackson on the left side, Glenn Dorsey on the right side, and Poe in the middle, the Chiefs finally have a complete line. We feel Romeo can help coach Poe and get the most out of him, and help Poe become a dominant nose tackle in our defense. Welcome to Kansas City, Dontari! wrote:
Poe ran and jumped like a little man at the Combine, but showed the strength of the big guy that he is. He had 44 reps with 225 pounds and ran 40 yards in an unofficial time of 4.98 seconds, which would be acceptable for a linebacker or tight end 100 pounds lighter. Poe is obviously naturally gifted with size and strength, although some scouts are concerned that he doesn't always play up to his ability.

"Dontari is a powerful, powerful young man who has the potential to be the best defensive lineman I ever coached," offered Memphis defensive line coach Mike DuBose, who saw some pretty good DLs in his days as head coach at Alabama, where he won an SEC championship in 1999.

DuBose says Poe often over-thinks what he is doing rather than just doing it and needs to just rely on his abilities more. That probably accounts for the reason Poe doesn't always explode off the line. But DuBose says Poe is a dedicated athlete in the weight room and on the field, where he will still need to refine some techniques to maximize his God-given abilities at the next level.

With the 12th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft....

The Seattle Seahawks Select SLB/LEO Melvin Ingram

Melvin Ingram is a football player. He has a nose for the ball and incredible instincts. We believe he has the quickness and football smarts to excel as an SLB for us and a LEO player in passing situations. He'll be asked to rush the passer quite a bit, but we also believe he can set the edge against the run and can develop as a coverage player. We are happy to add him to our already dynamic defense.

With the 13th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select:

Iowa LT Riley Reiff

Note: Arizona has been desperate for a franchise tackle for what feels like since the dawn of time. Levi Brown is a solid right tackle but is exploited when asked to man the blindside of QBs. Reiff brings that NFL-ready technique associated with a Kirk Ferentz offensive line and an obvious mean streak. He gets compared to Bulaga simply because the school he plays for, but Reiff is a clear level above Bulaga was when it comes to pass protection. He fits our mold of a power running scheme and can finally keep our QB of his back.

With the 14th selection in the 2012 draft,
The Dallas Cowboys Select:

Quinton Coples DE North Carolina

Having addressed most of our weaknesses in free agency, the Cowboys have the luxury of taking the best player available. Coples will line up in front of DeMarcus Ware and our blind side pass rush will be greatly increased. Welcome to Dallas, Quinton!!
