I want to do a full mock with a couple other people. Need 3 other people. Each of us will take 2 divisions (8 teams total) and run the draft. No trades.
Since it will only be a couple of us it should go pretty quickly. I'll take the NFC East and AFC South. Who else is in?

NFC East (Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Redskins) EaglesPeteC

NFC North (Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings) JBURGE85

NFC South (Buccaneers, Falcons, Panthers, Saints) DrawABlank

NFC West (Cardinals, 49ers, Rams, Seahawks) Frankbuncom

AFC East (Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Patriots) DrawABlank

Ok it looks like we have our 4. So we can begin. Here is what you need to do. Post your picks and I will update the master list. It would be great if one of you could keep track of the picks by team and keep that updated as we go.

Also, if you know you can't pick for awhile and you have a pick coming up you can pm me a few options and I can put your picks in.

I'll just go ahead and post the 2 most obvious picks in the world.

Everyone has known this was the pick for months. The Colts start over with the best QB in the draft.

With the 1st pick the Indianapolis Colts select Andrew Luck QB Stanford

As an Eagles fan, I was hoping the Browns traded up to this spot, but alas the birds are going to be facing RGIII twice a year.

With the 2nd pick the Washington Redskins select Robert Griffin III QB Baylor

With the 5th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select:

Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU

We're glad that by leaking his wonderlic score, we forced the Browns to not take him for PR reasons. Wink

Seriously, a great cover corner to pair with either Talib - with Eric Wright in the nickel and Barber playing at safety - or Barber, depending on the outcome of Talib's legal turmoils. He's the best player available, and in the top 5 that's always the winning strategy. And while the Bucs' front seven has seen lots of draft picks over the last two years, the offense just received a major free agency infusion with Jackson and Nicks and with Richardson off the board (he would have been the pick BTW) it just made sense.

Here is where it gets interesting. The Jags are looking at 3 guys here. They need weapons so it could be Michael Floyd. But do his off field concerns + the signing of Laurent Robinson steer them away? They also need pass rush and Coples and Ingram are here too. Would they go with the measurables with Coples or production with Ingram?

Let's face it. They traded up for Gabbert and they have to get him weapons.

With the 7th pick the Jacksonville Jaguars select Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame

With the 8th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select:

Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M

AKA Hope. After the mess the FO have made of this off-season, they need to do something to energize the fanbase. Drafting a DE just isn't going to cut it. With both big-time wide receivers (Blackmon and Floyd) off the board this was very easy.

Tannehill is a polarising prospect. I have him as the 4th quarterback in the draft, but I had Blaine Gabbert as the best in 2011 so what I know about evaluating QB's can be written on a postage stamp. His ceiling is certainly that of a franchise quarterback, and while his floor is Josh McCown, he's the only guy other than Luck/RG3 who can be "the guy". A reach, a need pick - sure. But in the end, it will come down to results, not his draft position. He isn't going to succeed or fail based on adding another 2nd round pick to the offense.
