There probably hasnt been a thread started about him due to his contract, and our lack of cap space. But the Eagles may release him if they cant find a trade partner. We were really close to trading for him last year, and with Wright gone, our interest in him may be even stronger now.
So how does everyone feel about him, and what kind of contract would you be okay with for him?
Obviously we would need to make a cut or 2 to make it happen, but I for one wouldnt mind a swap of CW for Samuel. _________________

I would be ok if they signed him to a 2 year, 6 or 7 million contract. I dont see him as a great fit to our system, but he could be solid. He likely will get more than that though. _________________

| Short term contract 1-2 years I'd be ok with. We would probably have to trade Corey Williams. I think it's a strong possibility that this happens because we might not land a starting cb through the draft. I wouldn't mind seeing this happen, I guess. |

If we sign him, I'd live to draft Chase Minnefield and try a zone blitz scheme for our defense. _________________

Too funny you still have that sig quote.
Like others said, a short relatively cheap deal would be OK to me. _________________

Here you go.
The Lions wouldn't get him for less than 5 firsts cause he's the best there has ever been. _________________

His $9.4 million cap hit isn't gonna fly, obviously, but if he's cut then I'm okay with trying him as a stopgap for $4 million or so. His level of play was pretty average last year, but he's still got some football left in him and we're pretty desperate at CB right now. _________________

I'm really not familiar with Asante's play lately but any help we can get at CB can't be a bad thing. I'm sure Mayhew knows his "value" so I trust whatever he does or doesn't do offer wise. If Mayhew want's him I think we are a team that might be quite appealing to Asante (Starting Job on a strong up and coming team) _________________

Eagles fans seem to say that he was actually really good last year, but having him put DRC in the slot, where DRC apparently sucks. I would really love a trade involving C-Will straight up. _________________ Kate Upton for sexy President!!!

I agree it's the one spot on our team that we don't have a capable starter so he would get the starting job easily. We're a serious playoff contender and he's only got a couple years left so he should lik the idea of coming here and he would fill our last glaring hole as long as he's not greedy. _________________

If he gets cut, Yeah, adds a proven winner and some leadership in the secondary, I still think we rely heavily on Delmas as the leader back there.
2 Years $6Mill Yeah Id sign him....would he get more? Probably as he is ''Asante Samuel'' sometimes Names get you more $$$
But I wouldnt trade for him with that contract. _________________

To be honest ever since hearing Schwartz re-iterate that they draft for talent not holes I'm anxious to see who they'll draft and how they'll make adjustments.
I think our free agency foray is going to be pretty short and uneventful as it goes with signing in new players. |
