#Bengals announce re-signing of CB Adam Jones and T Anthony Collins, and free agent DE Derrick Harvey.

Harvey was the Jaguars 8th overall pick in the 2008 draft, the Jaguars gave up their 1st round pick, two 3rd round picks, and a 4th round pick to the Ravens in order to move up and draft him. Harvey lasted only 3 seasons and recorded 8 career sacks in Jacksonville before getting released and signing with the Broncos last season where he was limited to 5 games without any starts or sacks.

Anthony will remain a back-up lineman for the Bengals and started 18 out of 39 career games for the team.

I'm really glad Collins is back. Provides solid depth at T. As a Florida fan, I love signing Harvey. As a Bengals fan, I'm mixed. He did a lot of good things in college, went to a bad situation in Jacksonville and has never really produced in the NFL. Hopefully Zimmer can get all of Harvey's talent out of him. Hoping for some good but not expecting too much.

Yeah i don't expect much, but the Bengals have done a stellar job of reigniting the flame in these busted former picks. At worst, he gets a few sacks and is equal to Rucker or Fanene during one of their average years. At best, he figures out how to play the game and gets 8 sacks. I like the move.

Still would like to draft a DE early though.

As for Collins. That's a good re-signing. He's important depth and i'm glad he's back.

I was really hoping for a Sims announcement though.

Considering we are only signing him as a backup, i'm a big fan of the Harvey signing. Low risk with potential high reward, and if he is only a backup role player, that's fine too.

Resigning Sims and Collins is huge our depth along both lines just got much better and while both positions could use upgrades, they aren't neccessities.

Good stuff. We haven't been splashy in FA, but we have shorn up a lot of possible weaknesses that will allow us to go BPA come draft day.

There wasn't an announcement on Sims though...

Yeah, Sims is still looking at other options.

Whoops, could have sworn I heard we got him resigned. Off to re-update the roster thread.

Yeah, optimistic reports are that an announcement may still be made today. We'll see though.

Good signings. We needed depth at these positions.

Did you hear we also hired 2 scouts! Mikey Boy must have been hit across the head with a 2x4 and thinks he is a real owner now.

Love that we got Collins back. Especially since we didn't pick up the option on Andre Smith. Good to know we have options at RT...

Best two signings of the day maybe ?

Changes to the way the FO thinks maybe the best news we've had in a long time...........

Looks like we lost Lawson. What's the play? Rivers, Howard, and Rey? Bring in Luke @ 17? See what Moch can do?

Now stating on twitter that the Lawson to Carolina reports may have been premature and he has not signed yet.
