I don't think he ever lived up to his potential in New Orleans, but he is someone I know a lot of people on this board wanted on draft day 2007. Unfortunately the Saints took him and we got Buster Davis :/
If Floyd can stay healthy, then I like our lineup with Floyd and Meachem on the outside and V. Brown and Gates in the middle. |

6.5 million when VJ signed for 11 million and Pierre Garcon signed for 8 million? Not really. _________________

I think it's a bit priecy for someone who is actually an overachieving #2....
But with all these deals flying around, I guess it's not that bad. _________________

The redskins signings aren't really valid in an argument. _________________

You lose your guy that gets deep, you replace him with a guy that gets deep. It seems like a simple concept, but it's a rare good move for AJ.
DOn't like losing VJ, but I think they got the best replacement on the market. _________________

Agreed. We lost VJAX, we had Floyd, Brown and Gates. We needed a receiver, and will probably add another in the middle rounds of the draft. This was the best option as a replacement, the guy gets deep, Phil can throw it deep. If he polishes up his routes I think we got a good player.
Maybe it is too much, but did you want Danny Amendola? Stephen Hill? I don't think we could use a top pick with the obvious needs on defence, but we needed someone, and we got the best person available.
I hope we can lock up Gaither soon and then see where we stand with the cap.
And lets be serious, this is positive. This is what AJ has never done, he's showing urgency, it personally gives me some hope! |

Meachem has a ton of potential.. Many of us wanted him in SF and would have been fine with that price considering the new CBA _________________

Good move.
Probably our expected big time FA...
Anyway, let's focus on Gaither and a back up RB (Tolbert visiting Kansas, really !!! Please stay there) |

The Meachem signing really protects us in the draft, which is what I like most.
Now Gaither is locked up. I still look for another FA move, Meachem only hits the 2012 cap for 3.375 as per Acee. I want to see Gaither numbers! |

Is it too much to hope that Washington opts not to re-sign Tim Hightower and we can lay hands on him inexpensively?
Yes, the guy's coming off an injury, but as a purely rotational, third-down option, back-up guy he's really quite a good fit. Soft hands. Fearless pass-blocking. Will lower his shoulder and drive for the needed extra yard for a 1st down.
Another option could be Kevin Smith. I'm just figuring if we're going to have names, from Acee at least, like Cadillac Williams kicked around (i.e. guys with injury histories) when not kick around the names of slightly younger guys with slightly less auspicious injury histories. _________________

What do you think about BenJarvis Green-Ellis? The Lawfirm in 4 years and 510 rushing attempts has NEVER fumbled the football. He isnt a huge receiving threat though and I'm not 100% sure about his pass blocking. _________________

Chargers could've structured differently, made it work. But fact is they take $3.375 mil cap hit in '12 for Meachem. VJ cap # $12 mil in TB. |
Interesting to say the least. _________________
