We weren't expected to sign anyone big so I guess it's OK.

According to theJETSblog.com Chaz Schilens is on a plane to NY and could leave with a deal. It should make some of us happy. Landry also scheduled to meet with us.

Now I'm starting to get thee feeling if we sign Chaz, that means no dougie. We would probably draft our 3rd WR.

Listen if Schilens were to sign and he were to pan out then great, if not whatever. I get the sense that Schilens would be the "number 2" because the team will be running a lot, but I believe Kerley will be more targeted receiver.

I think the Jets are most likely keeping an eye on the draft after they sign someone. The first 4 rounds have a lot of very intriguing options at receiver.

Right now the goal has to be to "fix" the safety position via free agency. Don't overpay, but don't be too laid back. The fact that no safeties have been signed keeps me calm... go out and sign 2 safeties, a WR, possibly depth on the lines and go from there. Yes, we signed BT but I'm pretty sure they'll be in hot pursuit of a LB in the draft and you can be sure they'll draft one as well. The fact that they've been connected to so many receivers says that they know it's an important need, but not important enough to throw millions at.

This year's draft has one of the deepest WR classes ever. I wouldn't be surprised to see us add a WR in rounds 2-3 plus another small-school receiver in rounds 5-7. We have a lot of picks this year and could double dip at multiple positions.

When it comes to drafting a WR, we are probably going to aim for Floyd in the first, or try for WR's like Nick Toon or TY Hilton in the later rounds. Hilton is going to be a play maker in this league.

Were kinda screwed at WR. Everyone is gone and don't even pretend like Schilens is the answer. Supposedly Robinson isnt coming to New York.

Floyd isnt getting passed Miami anyway.

Honestly Kendall Wright at 16 doesnt sound like a bad plan either. Don't let his 40 time fool you. It was because of a false hand movement. Effing guy can fly.

That sounds like a terrible plan. When your 5'10 190 you better be able to fly. plus we already have holmes (basically same the same size) we need BIG receivers. Hes not worth a 1st round pick we'd be stupid to take him. There are plenty of receivers in this draft. This is a running team that wants big receivers who can also block.

Wright will be gone within the top 25 guarantee it.

If we sigh Schillens, Landry, someone like Meriweather, and a decent RT, I'd be happy with that.

I completely agree. That would be a low budget offseason and would set us up nicely for the draft.

Merriweather would be a terrible signing IMO. Landry and Reggie Smith would be a nice combination. Smith can blitz, coverage and tackle. Draft a safety in the 3rd round and then we have a solid 3 and eric smith.

I do like Chaz's potential, but hopefully just offer him a one year minimum prove it deal, with perhaps some incentives thrown in there. He just cannot stay healthy, but if he can he could be so dangerous for us.

As if we're not labeled as an all-hype team already, now we're looking into Chaz Schillens? This will be a forum-wide bloodbath.

But in all seriousness, these are exactly the caliber WRs I thought we should be looking at. Low risk, high upside guys to pair with Holmes, Kerley, Keller and a draft pick. We need guys who aren't going to demand the ball, but can do something when they get it.
