Ehh, they both seem like slash first type of players. I think Batum/Roy compliment each other greatly.

Roy aint slashing anywhere with those knees. He will be primarily a shooter now.

It seems like Kahn doesn't want Derrick Williams. What's wrong with him? Insight please.

I don't think they shop him because they don't like him, I think it just happens because he is probably our most valuable asset that we would be willing to move so they assess what we he could net us.

And some worry about his long term fit with the team because some don't believe he can make the transition to the three, although I believe he'll be able to do it.

He's a tweener forward that's better suited to play the four but with the most productive power forward in the league already on the roster already he doesn't really fit in well with Minnesota. He holds a ton of value as he has the upside to be a good stretch four in the league, something that is critical to have in today's NBA. I think Kahn realizes that Williams could bring the Timberwolves a few valuable pieces back so he's just exploring every possible option.

Im a little bummed about Darko not working out. He had a lot of potential I just think Adelman put him on a very short leash and that killed Darko's confidence. We all know he isnt the most mentally tough person in the world.

Adelman didnt have him on a short leash, he started like the first 25 games for uys, he got injured (again) and Pekovic came in and lit it up. Darkos play killed Darkos confidence because he doesnt belong in the NBA, he belongs in Europe where his play fits better.

I dont agree with that. Adelman was always so quick to pull him from the game and screw with his minutes for a few mistakes when I thought he was capable of being effective.

Well go back and look at the tapes, he seems so unathletic and unaware of whats going on around him, he plays ok defense but on offense he was a total crapshoot, some games he looked great in the post, but other games its like he forgot how to play. Also, Adelman kind of did that a lot at the beggining of the year, he was tweaking and adjusting the roster to find out what works and what doesnt because he didnt have an offseason with the team so he had to figure this team out on the fly. Darko gets cut because of Darko, hes 27 years old, if he lost his confidence it was when he was in Detroit, not in Minnesota.

So the Wolves have seemingly won the AK-47 sweepstakes.

Two years, $20 million for the 31-year-old Kirilenko. Not a terrible move, although the price does seem a little steep. And it officially ends the Wes Johnson era in Minnesota. But I'm still trying to figure out who is starting at the 2 for this team.

Rubio - Ridnour - Barea
Roy - Shved - Lee
Kirilenko - Budinger
Love - Williams - Hummel - Cunningham
Pekovic - Steimsma

I wouldn't trust Roy to start right away at the 2, he makes more sense coming off the bench until he proves (if he proves) his knees can hold up. And Shved is a Russian rookie, shouldn't count on him at the 2. So maybe move Budinger there?

That's a really strong second unit though.
Ridnour/Barea
Roy
Budinger/Hummel/Shved
Williams
Steimsma

Love AK47 and think he's the perfect fit for us. He's coming off Euroleague MVP and Defensive player of the year. Plays with great intensity at all times. He provides us with a shot blocker and a defensive presence on the court since Love and Pek aren't much of shot blockers. Also allows alot of differen lineups.

Rubio Roy/Shved/Bud AK47 Love Pek
Rubio Roy/Shved/Bud Williams AK47 Love
Just to name a few

AK and Shved combined stats were..

20/28
51 points
11 assists (all shoved)
10 rebounds

I think I saw Shved get 3 or 4 steals as well. I'm very impressed.

Those aren't their combined stats... I was watching the game and Shved and 13 assists alone- iirc he almost had a triple double...

Also doesn't Shved look like Ricky on this play
