This move saves the Eagles around $2m on the salary cap. Jenkins has also had his contract reduced by 1 year. _________________

Nnamdi still played at an elite level if you actually watched the games... |

Um... what about Jason Babin and his 18 sacks ... ? Also Nnamdi had more interceptions this year than he has had since 2006. True, he was not a shut-down corner he was for the Raiders but he still played very well.
Either way, this is a good move for the Eagles. _________________ With much cheese,

With Nnamdi, I thought he could have played better if the DC put him in a better position for his strengths
With Babin I would have wished he did more in run support. Yes, I know it was the system that he plays but still he is pretty bad there
And now lets redirect back to Jenkins who this thread is about and not my opinion of the other Eagle FA's |

Good. If we can just re-sign Derek Landri, I'd be content at the DT position. I would like to re-sign Antonio Dixon, but I consider him a luxury. Trevor Laws can walk. _________________

Either way, this is a good move for the Eagles. | Wait, did you seriously us Aso having 3 interceptions as a reason for him not being a FA bust? Wow! I mean i love Aso and feel he wasn't a FA bust for Philly. He wasn't Aso of old but he was very good still and not terrible like some like to think. Fact is is that the INT #'s for a guy like Aso are so overrated and it's so silly to even bring them up. _________________

Aso played decent, but not to his usual elite self. This is a result of Juan Castillo stubbornly putting Aso in a soft zone, when he should be in a press man.
Aso is bigger for a cornerback, and he has long legs. His game is based on using his hands and upper-body to shift the WR's direction, and then to use his long stride to keep up with the WR downfield. Then he also has the ability to locate the ball and the athleticism to go get it. That is an amazing, invaluable skill that can take away a team's best player.
But Juan had him in a system where he would drop back, react, then have to accelerate quickly to make the play. You use this type of system when you have shorter, stouter corners. Reason being, downfield they can't attack the ball against the WR, however they are more likely to have the agility and acceleration to react to the play.
Taller guys like Aso have a higher center of gravity, so it's more awkward for them to shift directions quickly. This is bad news for a zone, though actually Aso wasn't terrible by any means. _________________
