Hello Cleveland.Alot of mocks have you taking a wide receiver and quarterback in the first round.
If the Green Bay Packers can sign Matt Flynn-qb,do you think the Browns would give up pick no.22 for him and James Jones-wr.You fill two needs and still have pick 4 for Richardson-rb or someone else. |

For 2 games Flynn will gain a large contract from someone which is a risk in itself. To add a draft pick - let alone a first rounder - seems like too much for too little.
Besides, I have yet to read a report that GB will franchise Flynn while there are multiple sources that suggest the opposite - even if JFindley's contract is signed soon. While GB might be able to from a cap point of view there is a risk involved. I think the smart $ says Flynn will be an unrestricted FA. _________________ Go Browns ~ Win Tribe ~ Cavs!

This idea was already brought to our attention

This would allow the Browns to pick Trent Richardson with their own first round pick after trading back with the Redskins who would pick RGIII.
Just looking for thoughts because many Packer fans are expecting the team to franchise Flynn. |

Another Green Bay fan already proposed this trade (or one very similar) and let's just say the offer wasn't well received.
Green Bay fans need to realize that Flynn isn't worth a first. Kolb had more experience than Flynn and the Eagles received a second-round pick and an inconsistent cornerback. Why would a team offer more than what Arizona gave up for a QB with less experience, especially considering how that trade has worked out for Arizona? Then there's Matt Cassel who hadn't started a game since high school and put up good stats for a whole season and the Patriots got a second-round pick for him and Mike Vrabel.
The most I'd give up for Flynn is a second and the only way I'd even consider that is if the Browns miss out on RG3. Since Flynn will likely find a new team before the draft occurs, I don't see him becoming a Brown.
Also, I don't think the Packers should use the franchise tag on Flynn. They've got a few key free agents and they can't afford to pay top dollar to a backup quarterback. If the Packers' front office knew for sure that they could get a first-round pick for Flynn then it'd be different, but like I said, I think they get a second-round pick at most if he's franchised. Maybe a second-round pick and a conditional draft pick in 2013 that could turn into a first or a second depending on how well Flynn plays next season. _________________ Cleveland Browns Forum Hall of Fame Inductee

| This is a horrible trade. If you think we will take that maybe we can trade Colt McCoy and Massaquoi for Aaron Rodgers. Then you can trade Flynn for the 2nd or 3rd he is probably worth. I wouldn't give GB a 2nd for him not only because its a very high 2nd round pick but he is also going to want starter money for 2 starts and a 7th round pick. If McCoy can't get it done as a 3rd round pick what makes you think a 7th round pick will get it done. I know we need a starting caliber QB but I just don't see him as the answer. One over the top trade for another. |

Tom Brady "got it done" as a 6th round pick.
Matt Hasselbeck "got it done" as a 6th round pick.
Joe Montana "got it done" as a 3rd round pick.
Brian Sipe "got it done" as a 13th round pick.
Where someone was drafted makes no difference. It's all about whether they have the will to be a great QB.
Personally, I wouldn't want to sign OR trade for Matt Flynn, because I still think Colt can be the guy. In other words, "The hay is still in the barn." _________________

| I see what your saying I was just trying to imply and I am a fan of Colt that the trade is a horrible trade and I wouldn't even trade a second round pick. Terrel Davis was a 6th round pick as well, but Matt Flynn has not done anything except for 2 games and against bad defenses. I will go on record as saying I am a Colt fan and hope he does succeed and I dont even want Flynn as a free agent let alone a trade because he is going to get starter money for 2 games. |
