There is a huge amount of pressure on NFLN and ESPN to not 'tip' picks this year and both have come out saying they won't do so.
However, Twitter is a whole other animal and there is no doubt in my mind that people will still be tweeting the picks just so they can be first.
My request is that we have 2 separate threads in the NFL Draft forum. One for people whom don't mind having picks spoiled, or just want to know who the picks is as soon as possible, and a thread dedicated to those of us who want the entertainment and excitement of not knowing until it is announced by Goodell.
Perhaps temporary bans can be given out for people who spoil picks in that thread?
I know this may not be beneficial to the Forum in terms of discussion about the draft being split up as it were, but I for one would have a much better experience of the draft if I had the excitement of not knowing and was able to discuss the draft with like minded people. _________________

I would agree with the no spoilers rule. _________________

There has to be a serious deterrent though. 3 day bans for the duration of the Draft would really make me think twice before spoiling a pick. _________________

Yeah I agree with this, if someone's so intent to spoil picks, there's a proposed thread for anything goes anyway. _________________

I agree that we should do something about the spoilers. All the ideas have been good _________________

Discussing this with the other Draft Forum mods (although any punishment will be deferred to Webby).
Last year there was only one thread with a rule that No Spoilers were allowed. We're trying to figure out the logistics around having two threads. The forum starts to slow down with the extensive load so it might be difficult to police two separate threads... _________________

Just playing devil's advocate here, but if you guys don't want the picks tipped why do you get on Twitter, FF, etc.? I understand the idea of discussing the picks.

I can't speak for Webby, but I'd have to imagine that he'd rather not ban people for something as silly as that. _________________

This idea came in mind specifically from last year. When the Patriots traded up to 21 I was so excited as it could have been for a number of guys I liked. I went into the DDT to discuss the Pats trading up for someone and who it MIGHT be for, before someone posted a Tweet stating it was for Chandler Jones.
It just bursts the bubble of excitement that I'm sure, for most of us, is the best part of Draft weekend. _________________

We want to discuss previous picks, and potential draft selections, and in the shuffle someone will undoubtedly post a Tweet or a piece of info or something about to happen and ruin it for everyone else. _________________

So the plan is to have two draft threads.
The main draft thread - No spoilers allowed with the mods keeping the first post up to date with draft picks.
A rumors/spoilers thread - Where users can post freely about upcoming picks.
Now I will state the main goal from the mod perspective (at least mine) is to reduce arguments in the draft thread which could lead to derailing the entire thread. Ever so often someone might mistakenly post a spoiler in the wrong thread (it happens). Let's not overreact and expect a ban or derail the thread for pages because of it. Just point them to the correct thread and hopefully it won't happen again. We'll obviously be on the lookout for trolls who are trying to spoil picks repeatedly and will work with Webby on the appropriate punishment for them... _________________

Great work TheVillain112, I think this could work out pretty well. I hope that we can make a big deal about the No Spoilers thing so posters stay in line and in the right thread.
With a name like Footballs Future, it would appear for most of the members, that the Draft is the most exciting time of the year, more so than actual NFL games, so it's important that those views are respected. _________________

Good job Villian for setting this up, and thanks to TomRalph for making it happen. I agree with the suspense being the best part for sure. I will be staying out of the rumour thread most likely _________________

Like I said, more playing devil's advocate than anything. I set down the computer, and not check twitter a few picks before the Packers go on. _________________

Whatever we can do to limit spoilers would be fantastic. _________________
