| Im putting together a mock and was hoping i can get some realistic input on your team. Who do you think they will target in the draft? FA? Im basing this mock on realities not dreams. For example, my Bengals definitely won't make a giant splash in FA, cause were cheap. So we'll probably target a guy like Meachem, and let guys like Grubbs and Nicks go get big money elsewhere. As for the draft, we likely won't be moving anywhere seeing as we are pretty stubborn with quantity or quality. Any info would help greatly, thanks guys. |

Anyone will tell you our top concern is the pass rush, in our case a 4-3 DE (or two).. we will also take a WR and just about anything on defense.. some of us (me especially) want an upgrade at tackle..
Ideally (for me anyways), we sign a top/2nd tier DE (assuming Mario Williams is not realistic then maybe Cliff Avril?) and go DE/CB (in either order) in the top two rounds.. _________________

Also a lot of fans on this board want us to go after a #2 WR like Pierre Garcon.
I think we also need a TE who can stretch the field and create mismatches ... maybe someone like Dwayne Allen TE Clemson in the 2nd. _________________

Bills need a 4-3DE, a shut down corner, WR #2, SLB, TE.
I see the bills cutting Merriman, PSencer Johnson, Terrance Mcgee, and possibly Dwan Edwards.
I would like to see the bills go for a top Wr in FA whether its Bowe, V-Jax, Colston, Manningham, Meachem
A pass rusher like Mario, avril, Mathias all could help the bills out.
CB Ross, Routt also could be an upgrade for FA
Bills need alot and they need to resign Stevie Johnson and possibly Bell or Chandler. Extension for Fred jackson will be coming soon.
i would like the bills to go top pass rusher available in the 1st or CB either Kirkpatrick or Claiborne. In the second the bills should do either the one they didnt go for in the 1st and go for it in the 2nd or a SLB. i could see the bills going for a slot receiver in the later rounds like Marquis Maze _________________

I believe that the Bills will resign Steve Johnson, Demetrius Bell (provided some other team does not drive the price up to a ridiculous amount), Scott Chandler, Chad Rhinehart and Kraig Urbik, but possibly no others.
The Bills will still need a #1/#2 quality WR, although they have plenty of WRs for #3 and below. I expect the Bills to sign one of the top WRs that are available in free agency.
The Bills might also sign a DE like Cliff Avril, but this seems far less likely. Depending on who is available and at what price, a CB from free agency could be very possible.
Provided the Bills resign who I think and get a top quality WR in FA, then the top two needs will definitely be DE and CB. Unless Claiborne were to drop to #10 (which is never going to happen), look for DE in the first. If he is available, I think Coples would be great, but if not then Upshaw. The only way the Bills go differently with #10 is if they were to lose D.Bell in FA and then Reiff or Martin would be possibles.
In the second look for the Bills to go CB, provided of course that there is a player who deserves to be selected in the spot and no high value player slips out of the first round.
After CB, or if no CB deserves to be picked with Buffalo's second, I think that TE is next most likely. If someone like Dwayne Allen were there in the second, the Bills would probably grab him. Other than TE, the only other relatively significant need area would seem to be LB, whether it be a good OLB or for depth.
Positions where I think the Bills are relatively strong and I would not expect them to take anyone, certainly not in the early rounds:
1. RB - Fred Jackson was leading the league when he went to IR and then
C.J. Spiller started to really show some nice improvement.
2. DT - Marcel Dareus played very nicely last year and Kyle Williams was one of the top DTs in the league in 2010, but missed almost all of last year on IR. These two side by side, in the 4/3 should be great.
3. O-Line - Provided they do not lose D. Bell, this unit is set nicely and at most a player for added depth might be possible in the later rounds. Prior to being hit with injuries (including at LT and Center) the O-line was among the league leaders in fewest sacks allowed.
4. Safety - Solid at both SS and FS, with George Wilson, Jairus Byrd and one of last year's rookies who developed nicely (D. Searcy). |
