Hello one hello all, welcome to the sunny North Eastern coasts of New Zealand. Yeah while you sit in the middle of winter I am looking off the balcony of my multi-million dollar holiday home;

How do I afford this you say? I am good at my job, I work for my clients and they work for me and I’m all about business so let’s get down to it. You want any of my clients to play for your team you are going to have to blow us away; four words sum it up really;

SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!

(Yeah, Cuba, Tom and I are pretty close, if you were wondering)

Money makes the world go around, pitch your city, pitch your team, but make sure you let us know of some comparable players contracts, making us work too much can make us angry. If the money is not right you are going to be watching the target of your affections plying their trade for a divisional rival. Is that something you really want to watch, the guy you had a chance to sign terrorize your team twice a season…Thought not.

Now it is your guys lucky day, I am feeling refreshed and well with this nice break in the South Pacific and for a limited time only, some of my clients that are willing and able to rake in the big bucks in free agency, are going to listen to an offer to stay with their current team, one offer, no more one chance to impress, or you face either having to use the dreaded franchise tag or watching your prized asset move on.

We are also going to let you pitch a restructure to your players, but beware our players know their value and they know how much money they are due over the life of the contract and this season so don’t get too cute or you risk drawing the ire of a player you really want to be playing their best for you.

Well, my lady is back, off to my private section of the beach for a bit of relaxation, you have all the info you need, good luck…You’re gonna need it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the Talent Agency for FFMD2012v1.0. One of the first things you want to do this offseason it try to secure some of your best talent to a long term deal so here it is.

This FFMD you will be allowed to offer a contract restructure or a new long term contract to four players. You will get one chance for each of these players, the answer will be yes or no (you will be told why). You do not have to use all four chances, and you are allowed a maximum of three of either kind (Resign or Restructure).

Your contract restructure offers and resigning proposals will be PM’ed to the member of our staff responsible for your division, the staff lineup is;

NFC West - chipperboy1
NFC East - drd23
NFC South - khodder
NFC North - Dingo

AFC West - Phire
AFC East - Gnat
AFC South - Raves
AFC North – RearViewMirror

When you are sending in you PM you will put in the subject line;

Division – Team – Resign/Restructure – Player
AFC South – Houston Texans – Resign – Mario Williams

The actual contract offer will look like this;

Player Name
Player Position
Contract Details (Years/Money, Singing Bonus, Total Guarantees)

Yearly Breakdown (Yearly Salary (Guaranteed or not), Yearly Signing Bonus Proration, Any extra Bonuses or Incentives)

For Example;

Joe Blogs
Quarterback
5yr/$65M, $30M Signing Bonus, $40M Guaranteed

Yr 1 – 5M Salary (Guaranteed), 6M signing bonus
Yr 2 – 5M Salary (Guaranteed), 6M signing bonus
Yr 3 – 8M Salary, 6M signing bonus
Yr 4 – 10M Salary, 6M signing bonus
Yr 5 – 7M Salary, 6M signing bonus

Receives Guaranteed 40M in first two years of contract.

NB: the cap hit is salary plus prorated signing bonus and any other bonuses in that year.

This is then followed by your pitch. Tell us why your player should re-sign with you; tell us why he should restructure his contract, include pictures if you feel the need, but make sure you let us know of some comparable players contracts, just makes the job easier for us and a little more realistic too. There is however a 500 word limit to how long a pitch can be and don’t test us, if you break the limit the pitch will be denied.

Once you have sent your PM the agent in question and maybe one or two others will look over the deal and decide whether or not to accept the deal this decision will be made within 24 hours.

Good Luck Teams.

Code:
Calendar:

- Resigns have to be in 24 hours before the start of free agency: Feb 12th Midnight

Khodder, there's a limit on how much the base salary can increase from year to year, right? So you can't go from like 2 million base to 10 million base the next year, right?

That was the case with the prior CBA, I'm going to have to do some research to find out of it that is the case with the current CBA. The increase was a 30% increase in base salary.

Gnat, it was only the case for an uncapped system like in 2010 and what we thought 2011 would be. with the capped system, it's not in effect. salaries can be 10 then 1 then 6 than 4 than 18 if you want them to be.

So say I want to extend a player but have him play out the last year on his current deal, am I able to do that?

The 500 words is for >PITCH ONLY< Not all the information above that (Team/Player/contract info/etc), correct?

This, and is it the "every 5 keystrokes is a word" 500 words?

This and do we need to pitch our own FA or just offer them contracts?

The team contract info aren't part of the 500 words.

It is 500 words period, so the word 'a' counts as much as the word 'Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis'.

And for your own free agents, you can pitch if you want, but it is going to be primarily based on the contract.

Yes, you can do that, the first year of the new contract will just be essentially the same as the last of his current contract.

if I franchise a guy and then re-structure, is that considered trying to sign a UFA?

example, Falcons franchise Brent Grimes, then attempt to re-sign to gain some cap space first year.

can I also attempt to re-sign 3 other guys?

That counts as a restructure.

You will have used up one of your 4 slots doing this, but still have 3 more to re-sign your own FAs or restructure more contracts

Can someone clarify what this means?

Does this mean I can submit four restructures or re-signs but only three can be accepted?

if the offers are good enough, you could wind up with all 4 accepting deals pretty easily.
