Ok so is it a consensus to keep manning and still go into the draft with the plan of drafting Luck?

I think the team is a bit far off to be able to compete for a superbowl even with manning the next couple of years.

I have been long accepting of the notion that the Colts would cut Peyton and draft Luck. If 'we' pay Manning we don't have to worry about the repercussions of possibly cutting him after one year. So I am all for carrying both QBs as long as we can get a restructure done for Freeney.

This is the key part of this. stallyns do you know what the current number us for the number one pick?
]Cam Newton's contract was 4 years $22,025,498 million all guaranteed

$14,518,544 million signing bonus
base salaries
year 1 - $375K
year 2 - $1,376,519
year 3 - $2,377318
year 4 - $3,378,477

his cap number for year 1 was $4,004,363

I PMd drd23 to find out if those numbers had been figured out yet (draft pick salaries) and let him know that we were wondering about restructuring Freeney's contract.

I think that all depends on restructuring Freeney's contract.

We have $25.6 million in cap space to resign a lot of free agents and the #1 pick.

I thought we were done debating manning... It is only 2m difference! Easy call!

Should gave nothing to do with Freeneys restructure..

We are going to save, money by releasing Brackett!

Hey guize. Sorry to burst the bubble but the doctor said that Peyton "could" play, "IF" the nerves regenerate.

Two things we basically already knew, and he was never "cleared to play"

Not bursting a bubble, just saying for this mock it shouldnt even be a talking point, about retaining manning!

agreed, Manning is retained. financially it's not that much of a birden, and we have the room anyway like reggie said.
