As a heads up to everyone, we pick at 6:30 CST. I will try to have the big board / scouting reports up when I get home from work tonight. If I'm not able to post it or pick, amazingandre has first authority for the pick, followed by jch1911.
I should be available though. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

I'll be available also. Can't wait to see how the draft unfolds when we pick. _________________

You may pick if neither Ax2 or jch are available.
In case I fail to post our big board (which is less vital for this pick than it is for the rest), I'm fairly certain everyone has a strong grasp on team needs. Best Player Available ought to suit us with the position we've put ourselves in. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

Y'all around yet?
We have awhile (90 minutes or so) before we select....
I was hoping Kenney was getting some offers on our pick!?
(New England, I am looking at you!)
(San Diego, give us a cal!) |

I'm here at the moment. I should be available to make the pick, as well.
If you are present during our draft slot, PM me the player you want us to select. I apologize as it looks like our big board will not be up before this pick. This is a failure on my part. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

kool... I will PM you...
No worries on the Big Board... it would be nice to see, but I do not think it is killing any of us.
We all know life (family, job, education) take priority over fantasy football simulation
Any luck on a trade? That would be my preference.... |

No recent word. Plus the rest of the staff was pretty opposed to trading. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

I think we should shock the world and go with Dontari Poe. Claiborne and Blackmon are off the board, we should never be drafting interior offensive linemen early in this system (i.e.; DeCastro), and Poe gives us exactly what we want in the middle: a mountain of a man to compliment the dominance we saw last year out of Watt and Smith.
Imagine what Watt, Smith, Cushing, and even Ryans could do with a real nose tackle in front of them.
You've got til 7:20 CST / 8:20 EST to voice your opinion. _________________ Welcome to Houston, DeAndre Hopkins! |

You already know my vote (Poe).
I concur. Not only will Poe make Watt & Smith better pass rushers - I believe he will open lanes for our other pass rushers (Reed, Barwin, Braman, Konz). Plus he clogs the middle forcing plays to the outside where Ryans or Cushing will be waiting. Too many times, opposing QB's were able to buy just a little more time because of a lack of pressure from the interior. Poe changes all of that. I think Poe makes our secondary better as well because of the pressure up the middle, opposing QB's will release sooner giving our secondary a chance to make better plays on the ball.
He may not be traditionally what our 3-4 would employ at NT, but his explosive power ratio is there. Plus, I do not see a player of his ilk being available to us down the road. |
