Gentlemen, welcome the best time of year here at FootballsFuture. It is time to begin preparations for Football's Future Mock Draft, 2012 Edition. Yours truly has been selected by the board running the show to head the effort of the Miami Dolphins this year. My credentials include a scouting position in 2009, an Assistant GM position in 2010, an executive position in 2011. As the General Manager this year, it is my responsibility to run the show, put together a staff, develop a plan of attack for the offseason and execute that plan. I am not a dictator, as people who have worked with me in the past can vouch for. I am a supporter of a more democratic process. Before we begin to dwell into how I plan on running things this year, allow me to introduce you all to the War Room.

The War Room


Staff:
-General Manager: ProudDolphan47

Will make all of the final decisions and is in control of everything ranging from submitting trades to making draft picks. However, this position weighs equally amongst the staff in terms of opinion and everyone’s say should be accounted for before he determines the best route for the team. Each member will greatly influence his decisions.

-Assistant GM: patdt13

2nd in line to the GM and assists the GM in all areas. If the GM is unavailable the Assistant GM is able to make draft picks and post UFA bids. Only the GM and Assistant GM have this ability. Becomes the active GM in the absence of the nominated GM.

-NFL Liaison: mountainpd

Responsible for communication between other NFL GMs and Assistant GMs to hunt for potential trades. Reports to the GM with findings and assignments/tasks.

-Head Coach: dolphan9954

Has a key part in all decisions, but his focus is mainly on the team itself, rather than looking for trade options, etc… The draft board and player targets should be of importance to him as adding players he views as a fit for his system is critical.

-Assistant Head Coach: Jordan198011

Assists and collaborates with the head coach to provide insight from the coaching staff regarding ability of potential free agents and draft picks.

-Offensive Coordinator: skatewood2
Collaborates with Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach with offensive players.

-Defensive Coordinator: Clutch
Collaborates with Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach with defensive players.

-Special Teams Coordinator: Jaytotha
Underappreciated, special teams are collected of the lower half of the roster. Special Teams Coordinator's primary focus is to improve the depth of the team, identify weak links at the bottom and potential replacements.

-Capologist: TBD

This person is in charge of maintaining and keeping tabs of the salary information of the team. At all times the team must maintain a budget in regards to the annual revenue the team brings in. The responsibility for correct figures will lie in his hands and an excel spreadsheet for constant updating is usually helpful. A 53 man roster must be maintained as well.

-Director of College Scouting: bpastermack

Helps decide needs and works with the national scouts to develop a big board for the draft.

-President of Player Personnel: Waterbear56

Is responsible for developing a free agency target list. Projecting trades with other teams and reviewing players on all levels both college and pro.

-Director of Media Relations: DOLFAN016

Will report to the writers with feedback and information relative to the news of what is happening with the organization.

I participated last year and on reflection, it wasn't too great. I'm hoping this year will be better. I was the President of Player Personnel last FFMD. I would gladly take the position again but am more hoping for Director of College Scouting or if you'll have me, as Assistant GM.
