was just going to post that. Making room. Id be happy about this we would have a sick rotation on the D line. _________________ "I'd be happy for him. Great Guy! He is like Tim Tebow on Estrogen."

Even with the release of Merling, DT is probably the position of LEAST need on this football team. We should address actual needs. _________________ With much cheese,

Not a need at all really. Starks, Soliai, O'Drick, McDaniels can all play inside. _________________

Nice work, Dolphins. Our new front office motto: "Creating needs since the offseason"
Nothing says "we are complete morons with no idea what we are doing" to the rest of the league like tendering an offer to a player and then releasing him. The good moves just keep on coming. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. He can play DE, so does Odrick. And I agree, the team has bigger needs but the GM might see him as the BPA at 8th. |

Although I don't like the move, since you really need as many D-lineman as you can get in this league, I think you're overreacting a bit. That is your thing though right? |

Merling doesn't keep anything from the tender. They gambled that someone might want to offer a late pick for him but noone did. They were playing with house money. _________________

I find this move to be the most comical of all. I'm not suggesting that I am crestfallen over the loss of Merling. However, the front office has taken a team that was bad and made them worse, time and time again. No question about it. This Merling move confirms two things. We are dedicated to getting worse. "A Committment to Incompetence" seems like an appropriate moniker. It also confirms that we had another draft fail in 2008. THE ONLY REMAINING PLAYER from that draft class is Jake Long. That means that in 4 short years every single player we took except the #1 overall pick was total garbage. Ireland was part of that front office that made those decisions, and some of you still want to retain the man!!! Its absolutely absurd.
In fact, at the start of the off season many believed if we could land Peyton Manning, and add one solid wide out to go along with Brandon Marshall and a RT in the draft, we could make a serious playoff run. Now we have more holes than a Colombian whore house. Pair that with a front office that seems fine with it and a fan base consistently willing to put a positive spin on every dumb move made and I see a recipe for ineptitude like none I've ever seen before. The entire organization needs to be burned to the ground and started over again. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. How does releasing Merling create a hole for us, Merc? The D-Line IMO is our strongest position? _________________

One more player out of the rotation. One more miss with a recent draft pick. "Fail" all the way around. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. To value precisely the activity of one of them, it is first necessary to account for the actions of the other 21" |

I suppose there were two types of people on the Titanic....those that "overreacted" and yelled for passengers to abandon ship and those that rearranged the deck furniture and "made the best of it."
If you want to classify me as overreacting to a 6-10 team that has created more holes than its filled in the off season, and traded away its best offensive weapon, then so be it. I am happy to wear that moniker if it seems to fit. I see it as a totally logical reaction to ineptitude. I've earned my right to complain and quite honestly question how anyone can be calm in the face of another decade of sitting in the basement of the NFL. I believe that is where we are headed with Ireland at the helm. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play.
