sometimes its best to just cut dues with someone.
I held out hope for 4 years that Ty Johnson would amount to something. So far, nadda.
After awhile, you can understand: Some guys have it, some don't.
He'll catch on somewhere else I'd imagine. Maybe he could end up as a decent backup somewhere... who knows. |
I would much rather be optimistic about Cedric Griffin (he is still under contract) bouncing back after having another year for his knee's to recover and possibly having a Defensive Coordinator with a clue about coverages not leaving him exposed with no Safety help. |
Like I said, we need to re-evaluate everyone.
If Cedric Griffin and Tyrell Johnson don't fit that mold that we want to build, then perhaps they will get their shots elsewhere.
hope for the best! _________________

| Quote: | Raheem Morris, who was fired as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach after the season, told the Washington Post he declined the Vikings' offer because he had accepted the job as the Redskins' defensive backs coach the previous day.
Morris said he did not want to go back on his word, even though the Vikings were offering a more attractive position. Morris explained that after interviewing in Minnesota he left with no offer and expected that Tucker would get the job. |
So Alan Williams was the 3rd choice. Good to know... _________________

I think that reflects more on Raheem Morris than it does the Vikings. See his quote "I didn't want to go back on my word", so that tells me that Morris had already told the Redskins that he was going to take their job no matter what the Vikings said. Essentially, he took the Vikings' interview for the free snacks...ala TJ Houshmanzadeh. And the Houshmanzadeh thing worked out in the end for the Vikings, much as I suspect this will, when Shanahan and his entire staff get fired after next season. _________________

Could be... but it also could be that the Vikings did not do a good job of communication. In the sports world personel fly off the market fast as well, and if he was a serious target, better communication should have been maintainined with him and his agent especially when speaking about a coveted role which DC is.
Of course this may have been done, and Morris still went forward with accepting a position he had on the table. Then its just unfortunate circumstances.

I, for one, didn't know that Morris was actually offered the job. _________________

water under the bridge, guys.
ALL of us commented during the process that coming onboard with the Vikings coaching staff was neither prestigious or had much job security to it. we KNEW we would not get a top tier candidate.
so now some documentation comes out to support that. it's no surprise. _________________

Why does Tyrell Johnson still deserved to be talked about?
This guy was a bum from day 1 and I remember saying from the beginning if your an extreme liability on special teams you certainly won't be a viable starter.
Johnson might not make the Chicago Rush and was an absolute waste of a second round pick.
I award Tyrell 0 points, hope everyone stops bringing his name up, he gets cut and may god have mercy on his soul. |
