I was wondering, since Joe Mays is putrid in a 4-3, we would be looking for a MLB in Free Agency or the Draft and with Dan Connor wanting a starting job, how did he fare this year and would he be a good pickup to start at MLB?

I think Connor is a better fit in a 3-4. Dunno anything about Mays. Didn't you draft Irving pretty high? Thought he'd be the guy of the future.

I'm pretty sure he's more a Hurney guy than a Fox guy anyway.

He's a solid, above average LB. He's excellent against the run and a great tackler, but has something to be desired in coverage. He's going to be an upgrade over Mays.

He's surely an upgrade over Mays, but I think he's better off in a 3-4. My guess is that Mays will start another year for you guys, then Irving will take over after that. Connor might end up staying and starting here, with Beason back at OLB, and Thomas Davis's 1 knee on the bench or PUP/IR.

He's only really good if you have effective players around him. He was a great against the run in '10 and '09 whenever he stepped in but he was terrible this season in my opinion. There were many times it showed him being slow reacting to a play and getting to the ball. He's also horrible in coverage.

Denver's defense is very talented so I think it'd be a good signing as he's a guy who isn't flashy but is solid all-around just as long as you aren't sticking him out there with other bad players.

Denver is a very likely place for him, as Fox likes "his guys".

Is he generally a good tackler? Because Mays can't really wrap up and he seems to guess a lot on plays and it makes me want to headbutt my big sceen repeatedly.

He's a great tackler, that's one part of his ability I will never question.

Yea, just questionable coverage skills IMO.

Are there really even good coverage inside linebackers anymore? The only one that comes to mind is Patrick Willis....if your inside backer is covering anyone in the first place in today's NFL, you know you're done as a defense.
You need a guy who can shed blocks and pound between the tackles, Connor is good at that.

Would not be surprised to see Connor going to Denver. He was a Foxy player, plus you have players like Woodyard amoung others that are FA's. Also Foxy is known to go with vet players over rook's.

Agreed, Denver was the only team I could really see Connor going to.
