This guy is a top 10 Talent..that could fall past the 3rd due to having a poor combine and some sort of attitude. If he could just get everything together I think he could be a steal of a deal dude plays with a motor like Ray lewis. Would any Raider fans want us to take a chance on him?

I just dont see it and if he was, Top-10 talents do not have combines like he had.

I knew nothing of him before this offseaon started. Some suggested him as a MLB and I started looking into him. To be honest, I see a SLOW MLB. Yes, he lays the wood but we already have a similar version of this player in Ro IMO.

Pass.

People should really stop watching his token youtube highlight videos of him. There's a good few videos on youtube that highlight all the downs he plays and shows how poor the guy is. The guy is no where close to a top 10 talent. Here's a decent video of his

Confused

slow, poor tackler, poor in coverage. Used his size advantage to shine in college against smaller and weaker plays and lacks the basic fundamentals to be a good MLB. Seems exactly like McClain.

With his attitude, I just don't see it happening. He's going to have a big time fall like Antajj Hawthorne back in '05

I used to be high on this kid, but I've soured on him.

Just too much of a head case. And the more I see of him, the talent isn't there.

He will need to land with the right team and locker room to really have any chance in the NFL. Even then, it's going to take a lot to get this kids head screwed on right.

He's not an upgrade to our defense right now. Slow, one dimensional player with no aptitude for leadership.

He's never going to be a star. He doesn't have the speed or burst in his game. All personality issues aside, the skills are lacking on this kid.

Here is what Prisco at CBS had to say on him:

Quote:
Am I surprised Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict ran a 40 near 5.0? No way. He never played that fast at ASU. Having gone to ASU, I always wondered about the Burfict hype. He was always more bark than bite to me -- and I watched almost all his games. He was never sudden, and he seemed to lack foot speed. Now we know he isn't fast at all. Then there are the anger issues, which led to seemingly one or two personnel fouls a game. The personality isn't great either. As one scout told me, he once cursed at one of the old men who always watch ASU practices. The guy just said, "Nice game, Vontaze." The response was something like "[Expletive] you, old man." He's now a third-round pick -- at best. Always was in my book. You have to love how he blamed the coaches for his poor play last season. "I just know that I'm the best linebacker in this draft," Burfict said. "I thought I played average last year, I should've played better. Coaches kinda messed me up. I didn't know if I was going to start a game, didn't know if I was going to be benched -- it hurt me." Is he a good representation for the Harvard of the West? (OK, so that's a joke.)

The biggest knocks on the guy are his instincts & baggage. All this talk of him not having any skill or being slow are completely blown out of proportion.

As far as speed goes, everybody knows 40 times & game speed are two different things. Everyone is making him come out to be a slug, when he's really not.

Like I said in the other thread, if he's there in rounds 5, 6, or 7...you take him. It's worth the "risk" at that point.

Burfict is much slower, McClain is solid in coverage. McClain just needs tweaks in his technique. Burfict has a long list of things to improve on.
