5 games outdoors/on grass
11 games indoors/on turf

TD/INT
9/6 outdoors/on grass 3:2
37/8 in dome/on turf overall ~5:1
8/2 in dome/on turf away 4:1
29/6 in dome/on turf home ~5:1

3-2 record outdoors
10-1 indoors

Projected season outdoors over 16 games:
28 TD - 19 INT
Projected season indoors over 16 games:
53 TD - 11 INT

Keep in mind that he went 3/0 against GB in week one in great summer-like conditions and that makes his numbers outdoors look better than they are. Even including those numbers though, they are pretty mediocre. Another note is that the 1 loss indoors came against the Rams when SJax ran for 160 yards on the Saints. I also included the away vs home dome stats to show that it's not just because as it's at home. While they are of course better at home, the results are strikingly similar away from home when on turf and in controlled environmental settings.

Just wanted people to realize how stark the contrast is before they minimize or outright ignore what it does to a QBs numbers to play in a dome.

Dome games:
Brees - 11
Rodgers - 4
Brady - 2

Those three QBs are a combined 16-1 in those games with a 51 TD, 10 INT ratio. Rodgers and Brady actually only had 2 INTs in those combined 6 games to Brees' 8 in 11.

Drew Brees outdoors this season:

Week 1 @ GB - 32/49, 419 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs
Week 4 @ JAC - 31/44, 315 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs
Week 5 @ CAR - 32/45, 351 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT
Week 6 @ TB - 29/45, 383 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs
Week 14 @ TEN - 36/47, 337 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs

Where is this 6th game on grass, I could have missed it but I have 5 games?

His numbers look fine to me...

Yes, this is why I laugh at people who think Peyton's numbers are not inflated.

Oh no question QBs like Warner, Brees and Manning were great. great QBs. But they do not put up those same numbers playing in Phily or Green Bay.

I originally had the Rams as an outdoor team, before noticing and fixing it. I guess I must have missed a part where I still had 6 written down, I'll fix that.

I'm not taking away the GB game. I'm just saying that it should also be noted that his handsdown best outdoors game came against a GB secondary that has been as inept as the Patriots, and was week one with perfect weather and conditions.

GB's secondary had Nick Collins in that game though until the 4th quarter. He was torching a healthy Green Bay defense in which Collins makes a big difference. Also he just had a good game against the Titans outdoors...

And I'm sure if Brees has a big game this weekend, people are going to bump this thread as if it's some kind of justification to have ONE good/great game in California.

People shouldn't bump the thread, they should ignore the thread. It's not really fair to compare Drew's numbers to Rogers/Brady while ignoring the home vs road effect.

If you want to break down the 3 QB's in terms of road games outdoors in temperatures under lets say 40, then it would be more accurate. To say Brady throws better at home (outdoors) than Brees does on the road outdoors doesn't make much sense...

Come now. It's the Titans. They have been a middle of the pack against the pass since Haynesworth left

Then you look how he put up a stinker against the Bucs who have been putrid this year on defense (last in scoring defense) and it really makes you wonder.

the weather in football is very overrated

The game DET / GB in week 17 is the best example.

I did include the home vs away numbers.

Home in dome: ~5:1, TD:INT
Away in dome: 4:1, TD:INT
Away outside: 3:2, TD:INT

Really not that big of a difference. Of course there is a slightly higher ratio for at home, but it's a really insignificant amount when compared to the 3:2 he has outdoors. He throws less TDs and twice the amount of interceptions outdoors away than outdoors in a dome.

EDIT:
Think of it this way:
-For every 3 TDs he throws away/outside he throws 4 away/dome
-For every 1 INT he throws away/dome, he throws 2 away/outside

133% more TDs in a dome while on the road than outside on the road
200% more INTs outdoors on the road than in a dome on the road

Brees is 18-5(loss vs ARZ,BAL,GB,TB,STL) on the road since 2009

One of the picks in JAC and one in TB were tipped passes. I think both were by Meachem actually.

Again, I don't see a problem with his numbers. His QBR > 90 in every scenario. Pretty sure 95% of fans would kill for a QB with numbers like his...

2009

Home: 73.2% , 2,482, 9.2, 20 TDs 4 INTs, 120.1 QBR
Road: 67.8 1%, 906, 7.8, 14 TDs, 7 INTs, 98.1 QBR
Grass: 67.3%, 1,215, 8.1, 9 TDs, 5 INTs, 98.1 QBR
Turf: 72.0 %, 3,173, 8.7, 25 TDs, 6 INTs, 114.4 QBR

2010

Home: 69.1 %, 2,337, 6.8, 17 TDs, 12 INTs, 90.0 QBR
Road: 67.0 %, 2,283, 7.2, 16 TDs, 10 INTs, 91.8 QBR
Grass: 65.8 %, 6.9, 9 TDs, 5 INTs, 91.7 QBR
Turf: 68.8%, 3,571, 7.1, 24 TDs, 17 INTs, 90.6 QBR

2011

Home: 72.0%, 2,624, 8.7, 29 TDs, 6 INTs, 122.4 QBR
Road: 70.6 %, 2,852, 8.0, 17 TDs, 8 INTs, 100.7 QBR
Grass: 69.6%, 1,849, 8.0, 9 TDs, 6 INTs, 95.7 QBR
Turf: 72.1%, 3,627, 8.5, 37 TDs, 8 INTs, 118.7 QBR
