Its about 2 guys and a girl ... the girl is a police detective and the guys are father and son. The father is a genius who also happened to be stuck in a mental hospital for 16 years. And the Son is a convict running away from the mafia/ trying to help the girl.
And they go around "solving" alien/Sci-Fi mystery's ... the way I described it makes it sound super corny but I'd say its a combination of Breaking Bad and Doctor Who.
