Welcome to the 2012 Eagles Offseason Thread

Ok fellas, that time of year has come around once again. As usual, in here we can discuss all things Eagles that are going on, while avoiding the dreaded "dumb offseason threads." Feel free to post any minor FA pick-ups, rumors swirling about players, guys you want to see in midnight green, potential coaching moves, complaints about the team, and whatever else you think is important, but not necessarily worthy of its own thread entirely.

However, if we do sign a new coach or FA (for example), feel free to make a new thread so we can discuss that topic further in there. This is more for news updates as they come out. And I know my track record around these parts is an immaculate one, but please don't feel intimidated by that. If you come across some news that hasn't been posted yet, put it in here and I will update the OP.

Thanks for your cooperation!

TWELVE EAGLES TO BE FREE AGENTS

The Eagles have 12 players whose contracts expire after this season - defensive end Victor Abiamiri, running back Ronnie Brown, defensive tackle Antonio Dixon, offensive tackle King Dunlap, wide receiver DeSean Jackson, defensive tackle Derek Landri, defensive tackle Trevor Laws, guard Evan Mathis, defensive end Juqua Parker, fullback Owen Schmitt, wide receiver Steve Smith and quarterback Vince Young.

Of those dozen, Dixon is the only one who is a restricted free agent.

TEN DRAFT PICKS FOR EAGLES; TEAM OWNS No. 15 SELECTION

The 2012 NFL Draft will once again be held in primetime at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The first round will take place on Thursday, April 26, with rounds two and three on Friday, April 27. Rounds four through seven will be held on Saturday, April 28.

The Eagles have their own pick in Rounds 1-6 (No. 15 overall in first round) and have an extra 2nd round pick (Arizona), an extra 4th round pick (Tampa Bay) and two extra 6th round picks (Denver and New England). Their 7th round pick belongs to New England.

Of those FA I want Jackson, Landri, Mathis and Schmitt back.

This is probably better served here then, no?

Yes, I was in the process of updating the OP with that general info, but my computer froze. I'll have that stuff posted shortly. Thanks Jroc.

Sign Djax to a long term deal. He had a "bad" season and still went for 960 and 4 td's. He's a top 4 PR. Make him happy, and he will make us happy.

No problem. Feel free to manipulate and edit all that stuff. Or maybe just put it in the OP.

Yes, it's up now.

That info is a good place to start for everyone who is going to make a mock, btw.

Things that are correctable with a pay raise.

He's always been a hit or miss guy and always runs backward instead of forward.

Very interested in Plaxico as a short yardage/redzone receiver ONLY. I think it could be a nice addition and something Plaxico should be interested in after being ineffective beyond 10 yards. If you have him and resign Desean, then the WR group should be fine and Desea'ns unwillingness to run drags and slants will be overshadowed.

Lurie has a PC scheduled for tommorow. Its intresting that his is scheduled before Reid's. I doubt anything happens but nothing would shock me.

It could be some bs vote of confidence.

I am happy with the way the eagles beat some crappy teams, maybe next year we might beat a good one.
