Christian Bale will reprise his role as Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) in the film "Bad vs. Evil: Part One," a new movie out of Film By B.Y. studios. The film will include elements of historical fiction, film noir, meta/dark humor, and a classic thriller as it collides the worlds of some of the most notorious serial killers of all time, pitting them against each other in present day New York.

Writer/Directors: The Coen Brothers

collider.com wrote:
While the story and cast remain a secret...The currently untitled Coen Brothers film is sure to bring their unique storytelling and new memorable characters to add to their already long list of them. Rumors say this movie will be more in the vein of The Big Lebowski and Fargo rather than their more serious work like No Country for Old Men. The story is rumored to again revolve around one mans story and how much he is influenced by things and people outside of his control. As with most films by the Coen Brothers look for a talented lead to be attached to the project soon, and just as much attention be put to the rest of the cast.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lead Actor: Sam Rockwell
CinemaBlog.com wrote:
The criminally underrated actor, in this blogger's opinion, Sam Rockwell has be signed on to The Coen Brothers new film. While details are scarce...the rumor mill says that Rockwell will in fact be the lead and A few details on the story have come about as well, apparently the current title of the project is Gameshow. Now one can only imagine what kind of plot could revolve a gameshow, but if Rockwell is in deed the lead...you don't have to be a genius to assume he will most likely be the host of the show.
Rockwell has always been great playing off other actors and stealing the show, which as a host of a gameshow he will get plenty of chances to do, I'm glad he'll be given a chance to really shine as a lead in the Coen's new film, the casual movie goer will recognize him from various supporting roles, but for fans of the cinema they already no how talented he is from films like Moon or the Green Mike. Who knows...maybe Rockwell will finally get the Award consideration he has been robbed of for years. As always, stay tuned for more details...I'll be watching this project very closely.
Annoucing...A new Film from Joel & Ethan Coen..
Joel & Ethan Coen on their new Film.
Quote:
Joel: "We are excited to finally let you guys know some more about this film-"
Ethan: "-Yeah, this is an idea we've been toying around with for awhile...I'm really glad we are finally getting around to making this thing."
Joel: "It's called Gameshow, and well obviously the main focus will be centered around this gameshow-"
Ethan: "- Haha..Yeah, and Sam Rockwell is playing the host. Without telling you too much right now lets just say...not everything goes so well."
Joel: "Well that's one big understatement." (they both laugh)
Ethan: "I don't want to pigeon hole the movie but it's probably fits the Dark Comedy sub-genre the best. I think any fans of Fargo, The Ladykillers, or even The Big Lebowski will like this."
Joel: "We want to keep things close to the vest for now, but as we fill out the cast we will be releasing more info...I promise"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Supporting Actor/Second lead:Ben Foster

Quote:
We learned today that Ben Foster will be joining the cast of the latest Coen Brothers Film, Gameshow. While some might question the addition of the actor, who has recently fallen into a typecast pit of twisted and violent characters, in a comedy..know that he won't be straying too far from it. But Foster will finally get to stretch out the other sides of his acting talents that he has expressed interest in more than one interview in recent years. Foster will be playing a con-artist who with the aid of his girl, who happens to be the on-air assistant to Rockwell's Host Character, will attempt to scam their way to millions right in front of the eyes of the eyes of those that tune in. But as the Coen's alluded too in a recent chat, that's all easier said than done.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
James Mcavoy
And
JK Simmons
collider.com wrote:
Collider found out today that James Mcavoy and JK Simmons have joined The Coen Brothers new film, Gameshow. This is Mcavoy's first time teaming up with the award winning brothers. Apparently he will be joining Ben Foster as one of contestants, and will have much more honest intentions going into it then we know Foster's conman character will. JK Simmons unlike Mcavoy is a vet of Coen films, appearing in numerous films the last decade or two. Simmons will play the role of the Gameshow's Producer, who directs the show & makes sure things run smoothly, and subsequently Sam Rockwell's boss. Mcavoy is an interesting choice, he's a very versatile actor so he should be able to deliver. Whether or not he keeps his natural Scottish brogue or not remains to be seen. Simmons sounds perfect for his role from what we know so far about it. Stay tuned for more details for Gameshow in the near future.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kevin Spacey

E!-online.com wrote:
E! Has just confirmed that Kevin Spacey will be joining Sam Rockwell, James Mcavoy, Ben Foster, and JK Simmons in the Coen Brothers new Film, Gameshow. Spacey will play the Mr. Hugh Cardwick, the Network CEO. From what we gather the role isn't the biggest, but will be leave a memorable impact to the other characters and on the audience.

On break from shooting his new "tv show" House of Cards (premieres late 2012 on Netflix), Spacey Had this to say..." I have never had the privilege to work with Joel & Ethan (Coen) before, but being in this industry you can not help but admire the stories and character they have brought to life over the years, so I immediately said yes when the brought this part to me...it's not the biggest but I'll have a bit of fun playing Mr. Cardwick." E! Then asked him about again working with Moon co-star, Sam Rockwell, "I actually didn't get any screen time with him, I recorded all my GERTY lines later on. So I'm glad to be able to act against Sam in real time this go around." details are trickling into E! On Gameshow daily, so check back soon as the cast and crew will very well be announced in the coming days."

We have just received the names of the new additions to Joel & Ethan Coen's new film, Gameshow

Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Quote:
First off... Mary Elizabeth Winstead is joining the cast of Gameshow. She will be playing Anne Lundquist aka Jackie, Sam Rockwell's on-air assistant and secretly the girlfriend of Ben Foster's character, Darren "Ron" Wagner who is a contestant and they both are attempting to con their way to millions.

Paul Dano

Quote:
Paul Dano will be taking the role of Jk Simmons' behind the scenes assistant, Timothy Gardner, the role is considered minor compared to parts like Rockwell's Host, who we now know is named Jim Callahan.

Stephen Root

Quote:

Well known, well you know who he is when you see him, and talented character actor Stephen Root is also joining the casts of Gameshow. Not a lot of details have emerged about what his role will be, but rumors say he will indeed round out the contestant roster, competing against James McAvoy and Ben Foster who will most likely play more predominant roles over the course of the film.

Alison Brie

Quote:

The beautiful, and talented Alison Brie is the last of the most recent additions to Gameshow. She will be playing Hugh Cardwick's (Kevin Spacey's) 23 year old Daughter, Laura Cardwick. She will also have some kind of romantic relationship with Jim Callahan (Rockwell). However, how big of her role is remains to be seen.

GJ Studios, the studio that has recently made films like All For One, The Vengeful Matrydom, Oracle, The Luckiest Man in the World, Liquid Sunshine, Longstanding Ties, The Place That Cannot Be, and Baby Face has given the first hints of their next project. Rumor has it that director Danny Boyle is working on a sci-fi war epic. Little else is known about the project, but surely there is more to come very soon.
