|
|
|
The normal hosts are busy, and NBT will be doing nothing but straight chilling for the next few weeks. Most people know how to play, but for those who do not:
Basis of the game:
You are the sole producer of a film based on a story which you will create. It is your job to hire a director, fill the roles, and hire any specialists desired (composer for the score, screenwriter for the script, etc). Your selections will be made in a fantasy draft style, and you will playing with up to 14 others.
I'll give people through Wednesday night to sign up, and I'll be capping at the limit at 15 people, so the first 15 to sign up, or whoever has signed up between now and Wednesday night (assuming the number isnt like 7-8 people), will be able to compete!
Draft details (up for debate!)
-Draft begins this Thursday at noon
-Randomly selected draft order, which I will release Wednesday night
-The draft will be 8 rounds long, and one may make two selections during rounds 7 and 8.
-Each person will have 4 hours to make their selection, and the four hours begin as soon as the previous selection is made. There are NO set times for draft picks, the goal is to make the draft go as quickly as possible.
*Should four hours pass for a pick, that individual will be skipped. They can make up their selection at any time. Any player at ay time may PM me their top three or choices for their next role. This will greatly save time is strongly advised. For instance, if you are 4 picks away, and have to go work a 9 hour shift - send me your top 3-4 available choices , and I will post your pick. The goal is to get the draft done as quickly as possible.
-Trades are allowed of all kinds, completely free market - actors for actors, directors for draft picks, etc. If the trade involves a draft pick, the trade must be agreed upon by both parties prior to when the draft picks is on the clock. PM me the final trade details, as well as posting them in the Discussion thread.
-A director is required, and may be chosen at any time. In the past there have been "Director rounds". That will not be the case here. One may choose whomever he wants, whenever he wants, assuming the individual is available.
-Following the draft, a 24 hour free agency period, where one may select any available actors, actresses, directors, etc still available on a first come, first serve basis.
After the draft, players will have a specified time amount to submit their final products. Selected reviewers will review and vote for each movie, which will be up for Academy Awards, and box office ones as well, under "Box Office King", "Most likely to flop", "Sleeper Hit of the Year", etc.
Required Items for Eligibility In The Awards Ceremony:
-Title
-Director
-Cast list: who plays who
-Character bio's
-Plot summary (the more detailed, the better!)
-Potential release date (are you make a summer blockbuster, or award season darling?). A release date schedule will be held; if you're trying to win the box office awards, take note and heed the competition!
Other possible things to include that are NOT required, but may enhance ones understanding of your work:
-Posters (we have some talented artists here)
-Trailer descriptions (step by step visualization of advertising for the final product to build interest)
For the sake of keeping things simple and easy, this new rule will be initiated: In "The Draft" Thread, each person will be required to maintain all information about their movie in the post in which they make their first selection. The final products must all be submitted here as well, rather than PM'ed to anybody.
This will be a convenient way for everybody to educate themselves about others movies, as opposed to digging through pages and pages to find details on others films. That means if you are revealing plot details, character bios, and of course adding actors and actresses, you need to be sure to update this post, as it will be the place everybody looks for details on your movie.
Thats all, folks! Sign ups commence now - through 8:30 PM Wednesday.
