I read today that Chris Samuels (RT) is standing firm against renegotiating his contract with the Redskins. It was stated that if the contract isn't restructured, he'll be released as a salary cap casualty by March 1. If that happens, we need to sign him. A pro bowl RT with a bonafide mean streak is just what we need. He may also be more willing to come to Dallas so he can beat up the Redskins' defense out of spite.

If this happens, Washington will assuredly draft o-line in the 1st round, since it would now be in pieces. It opens the door for us to draft Mike Williams, AND leaves the Redskins in shambles.

Cowboys fans, let's hope that Chris Samuels' greed prevails. He MUST NOT restructure!

if we were to sign him i'd put him next to flo at guard
and move larry back to the right side and we can go
from there.

I wouldn't. Chris Samuels is a RT. We can start him there and have Peterman play RG, like he was supposed to. It would DEFINITELY improve our offensive line in a massive way. Julius would easily hit the 1600 yard mark if this takes place. And, Samuels is one of the few free agents that I'd be happy throwing the money at. Give the guy his $10+ million signing bonus, lock him up for 7 years...get it done!!

What makes you think Peterman is any good you rogers can't get on the field?

What makes you think he isn't? He won the starting spot at RG before he got hurt as it is. I'd at least like to see the kid play.

And, if Chris Samuels is played at LG (Left Guard), Larry Allen gets moved to Right Guard, who plays RT? That's the specific position that needs to be addressed to begin with.

Signing a guy who is a Pro Bowl RT should mean playing him at RT. There's absolutely no reason to move him to another spot on the roster...especially since he fills the glaring need at the problem position.

Peterman was not starting, he coulcn't beat out gurode who is not playing to his talent level.
he hurt himself on a extra
point try in the fourth quarter of a pre-season game, which parcells said
he could have avoided.

it really doesn't matter to me because
samuels on dallas is a pipedreams
odds are philly would get him first
they have a better team and are closer
to winning.

Chris Samuels is a left tackle. Jon Jansen is the Redskin's pro-bowl calibre right tackle.

All i'm saying is if you have flo and samuels
are gonna move flo (no) he's deaf in the left ear so just move samuels
in a slot
larry is still good enough that you can move him
back to the rg
and 4/5th's of your line is great just figure out what
to do with the rt
rogers right now is a waste 2nd round pick and if he
can't get on the field you have to trade him.

I understand your point of view. I'm not arguing with it, I just don't know what to do with Jacob Rogers. Because of his issues adjusting to the switch to RT, it certainly complicates things. He played incredibly well at LT at USC, so it bummed me out that he was having so many problems making the switch.

Another option would be to have Jacob Rogers play Left Guard (if he's capable of it), keep Flo at LT, and move Larry Allen to RG, and have Chris Samuels play RT. Peterman can then be a backup. That lineup isn't bad, depending how well Rogers can adjust to playing Guard instead of Tackle.

Either way, if Samuels becomes a possibility, I think we should jump on it and let Parcells and the O-line coach worry about what the lineup would look like. It never hurts to have depth and options.

season. how can campo get this kid to play
and not parcells?
