I like this move. You're not gonna find a top 20 QB on the streets. For who was available, I think he was the best option. By all means a great character guy who led his team to a superbowl. _________________

Yates need to come in tomorrow and act like he is Peyton Manning. He doesn't need to act like a rookie and he needs to take leadership, not try to lead but grab the bull by the horns and let Kubiak know he is gonna create a QB controversy at the begging of next season _________________

I like how this sounds. I hope he can. He honestly looked better than Leinart cold off the bench in a closer game against a better D. _________________

Yes, absolutely.
Colt said Delhomme would come with him to practice 6 am and help him with tape every chance he got. Jake is a really good guy. Just a terrible, horrendus football player that will go above and beyond to cost you a game. It's something you have to see to believe. _________________

Beggars can't be choosers and when you are bringing in your 5th QB of the season it isn't going to be pretty. Looking on the bright side I believe he becomes the first QB in the history of the team to have played in a playoff game and he actually won 5 of them including a Super Bowl start. He was actually quite good as recently as 2008 when he led the Panthers to a 12-4 record, sported an 84 passer rating and threw for 3,288 yards (just don't ask about the playoff game that year). He fell off a cliff in 09 and was hurt last year but there is precedent for older QBs to find a fountain of youth after seemingly been tapped out.
Heck, Hasselbeck compares to Delhomme in many aspects except his last good season was actually 07 before being reborn with health in Tenn this year. Heck, John Kitna is two years older than DeLhomme and led the Cowboy to 4 of their 6 wins last year sporting a solid 88 passer rating. Brad Johnson still made made plenty of plays after his final pro bowl year in 02, including leading Minny to a 7-2 record when he took over at age 37. Gus Frerotte was 37 when he led the 08 Vikings to an 8-3 record when he was 37 and the Dolphins to 9-6 in 05 despite no playing in 6 games are year in any other season after his 26th birthday. I think there is something to these backup QBs that still have the ability to turn the screws tightly for a small run when needed. Maybe he's done, but I'd rather have someone who at least had the mental part down than having a bunch of deer in the headlines practice squad quality players try to close out a playoff birth. _________________

I like this signing, given the circumstances. Just nitpicking, but doesn't Delhomme have that funky throwing motion that we here at Texas know all too well? I swear ESPN devoted half a Sportscenter before Super Bowl 38 talking about it. _________________ "You may all go to Hell, and I will go to Texas."

LOL Delhomme is not that bad. Yes, he's not Matt Schaub but he's a serviceable backup with plenty of big game experience. I'm happy we didn't sign Garcia. He has one foot in the grave and pretty much nothing left in the tank. I mean really, he's wasnt even a decent qb in the XFL or whatever backwoods intramural league he was playing in.
Plus Delhomme was born in a great year. The year of the Rabbit.

You do realize that the superbowl is played in the first half of the year, right?
So you're screwed either way. _________________
