Something is wrong with you if you had to "settle" for Kuechly at #12 _________________ "Trying is the first step towards failure"

Personally, I think if Spence can add just 10 lbs. to his frame, he has the potential to be a Stephen Tulloch type. I think he has a high ceiling, but he needs more bulk. |

Easier said than done. Also easier said than done to completely change his game even after that. He's pretty poor at identifying where the ball is when he gets sucked into the middle and he's just god awful at shedding blocks. I don't even think 10 pounds is going to help him out there, he just displays poor leverage most of the time.
Don't get me wrong, I love Spence. He has some of the best instincts and football IQ this class has to offer and I would rave about him if I thought he had any chance to be a starter in this league. But I personally see a prospect that I wouldn't take until the 5th or 6th round. _________________

What? Adding weight? Unfortunately, it's pretty dang easy for me, so I assume it's the same way for everyone else. It's losing weight that is nearly impossible.
As far as Spence, he is a tackling machine, who is always around the ball. I believe he's one of the most instinctive linebackers in the draft. The only reservations I have about him, is his smallish frame and average athleticism. As far as instincts and motor, I love the guy. I can see him being taken as early as the late 3rd round, but probably more in the 4th round. I think he's gonna be an overachiever in the NFL, but as I said, he needs to add mass to his frame. |

Not the actual adding the weight part I meant the playing with that weight.
I like him a lot, but I just don't think he's worth the risk when I could get a guy like James Michael-Johnson or Audie Cole in the 3rd-4th range. I'd rather have either of those guys. _________________

While I like Spence alot, I was in no way promoting him for this particular team. I don't think he fits our style of defense. I see him more as a fit for Detroit, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay or Tennessee. In those types of schemes, I think his potential could be maximized. In our defense, he'd probably be a special teamer. |

With guys like Janoris Jenkins and Mike Adams falling out of the first round, I had to make a few changes. This is currently how I see round 1, falling......

3. Cleveland (Via Minnesota)- Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
4. Minnesota (Via Cleveland)- Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
5. Tampa Bay- Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College
6. St. Louis (Via Washington)- Matt Khalil, OT, USC
7. Jacksonville- Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
8. Miami- Ryan Tannenhill, QB, Texas A&M
9. Carolina- Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina
10. Buffalo- Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
11. Kansas City- Mark Barron, S, Alabama
12. Seattle- Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State
13. Arizona- Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
14. Dallas- Michael Brockers, DE, LSU
15. Philadelphia- Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis
16. New York Jets- Chandler Jones, OLB, Syracuse
17. Cincinnati (Via Oakland)- David DeCastro, OG, Stanford
18. San Diego- Whitney Mercilus, OLB, Illinois
19. Chicago- Peter Konz, C/OG, Wisconsin
20. Tennessee- Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina
21. Cincinnati- Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
22. Cleveland (Via Atlanta)- Cordy Glenn, OG/OT, Georgia
23. Detroit- Stephen Gilmore, CB, South Carolina
24. Pittsburgh- Dont'a Hightower, ILB, Alabama
25. Denver- Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State
26. Houston- Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor
27. New England (Via New Orleans)- Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama

Made an entire 1st round mock while teaching today, but do not want to type of the entire thing so I guess it is going to waste ha. Oh well.
Here is what I think to be my final Seahawks mock:
1. Chandler Jones, DE/OLB, Syracuse
2. Lavonte David, LB, Nebraska
3. Chris Polk, RB, Washington
4. Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin
6. Vontaze Burfict, LB, Arizona State
I know this may seem ridiculous as this guy is a head case, but I think Pete would welcome this challenge.
7. Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State

Here is my prediction of what the Seahawks end up with.....
Trade Down in round 1. I don't know what picks we would add or in what round, after the trade down, but I cannot see us staying at #12, so I'm only gonna give us players for the picks I know we have.
1. Donta' Hightower, ILB/OLB, Alabama (after the trade down)
2. Amini Silatolu, OG, Midwestern State
3. Robert Turbin, RB, Utah State
4. Jake Bequette, LEO, Arkansas
6. Mike Daniels, UT/5 technique, Iowa
7. Matt McCants, OT, Alabama-Birmingham |

I'd like either of the last two Immuh posted and Osprey put up.
I'm ALWAYS in favor of trading down. _________________
