Man, it somehow feels good to see another fellow German making his way into the NFL. Nütten, Vollmer, Werner... Although football is still somewhat of a fringe sport in Germany, institutions like the former NFL Europe, the annual Super Bowl broadcast on cable, the availability of live NFL and college games via the pay TV provider Sky and their channel ESPN America or more recently NFL GamePass- they all have helped drawing attention to American football. Over the next few years, I'd imagine that the number of Germans playing college football and perhaps in the NFL is only going to increase.
Is Werner first, second or third round worthy in the coming draft? |
If he keeps improving, first. He's a beastly player. |

I guess the staff wants to see if he can keep his strength while gaining some speed. All the players weights are closely controlled by the S&C staff by making them eat at specific tables for gaining, losing, or maintaining. _________________

3 sacks in a game is great. however, you have got to keep in context that they opened up against Murray State and beat them 69-3 . We all knew FSU was going to win and most likely in a dominating fashion, but 69-3 is pretty damn crazy.
Was anyone able to catch the game? Other than his 3 sacks (against way inferior opponents), how did he look? How was he against the run, at the point of attack, ect ect. Some info would be great. _________________

He didnt have three sacks he had four sacks. I watched the entire game and he looks MUCH faster. He still looked very powerful and was getting triple teamed alot but its hard to really tell his strength against Murray State. _________________

if he's 258 now, is he perhaps aiming to be 'marketable' to 3-4 teams as an OLB _________________

Not really, if he still puts the same product out on the field, with maybe some extra explosion and a better chance of getting to the QB he is going to raise his stock.
Pass Rush>Run Defense in the draft, and size is a secondary concern, look at Bruce Irvin. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's
