The more i watch him the more i see him as an OLB. He dropped the weight and his burst off the ball now is just flat out insane. I'm not sure his burst off the ball will be the same if he's rushing out of a 3 pt stance. He gets so low to the ground in his stance. He is a beast though.

Just watched another video of him, where he rushed out of a standup many times....I'm gonna go ahead and stop questioning his burst off the snap now... Laughing

I really like this guy as well. but I have serius concerns about the level of competition he is playing against at LDE in the ACC. There may be some legit LT prospects in the ACC. But I am not aware of any ACC RT's that have a shot at playing on sundays.

Point being if your a draftable 43 DE prospect shouldn't be owning opposing RT's on principle alone?

The guy looks very athletically talented but against NFL OT's will he even be a factor?

Like I said I really like the kid as a prospect, but I have concerns...am I off base here?

He hasn't played him this year yet, but UNC RT Brennan Williams is considered a 1st-2nd round pick right now.

He can't help the level of competition he's facing. Later in the year, it'll get much tougher.

However, right now he has 6.5 sacks in ~7-7.5 quarters of starting right now. His numbers would be much higher if we didn't pull our starters so early against the cupcakes we've played so far (although I wouldn't consider Wake that much of a pushover).

Level up in competition yesterday.
He didn't get his sacks but he was brining the pressure all day, he just could ring down Boyd. If Clemson had a more traditional qb, he would have definately had a few.

Boyd broke out of about 6 sacks yesterday including 3 from Werner. Werner was owning the LOS (outside of a couple desperation moves like looping around the OT a couple times and running himself out of the play) and was chasing plays down. He knocked down a couple passes as well.

He's certainly not a burner off the edge like Jenkins, but his missed opportunities were from failing to get Boyd down after getting a hold of him than because he couldn't chase him down.

Boyd avoided sacks all night long with his strength and improved quickness. It was damn impressive.
