Some interesting things have been occurring since the passing of Mr. Davis.
There was a long standing debate about different topics and how the team would change in his inevitable absence.
Since his passing, we've see a lot of reshaping.
-Legacy player Bruce Davis was cut with Curry filling his roster spot.
-Jerome Boyd a converted LB was cut and his place given to Ndukewa.
-Joe Porter was cut and the Raiders worked out Sheppard who was cut earlier
-Carson Palmer was brought in to replace injured QB Campbell (Davis's choice) for now and the immediate future.
Here is an interesting quote I say today:
Paul Gutierrez
| Quote: | | Per @JoshDubowAP, @Raiders blitzed 7.5 times per game first four games, 21.5 past two games. #thingsthatmakeyougohmmmmm |
Davis' defensive theory was rush 4. In the two games since his passing, 21.5 blitzes and ironically, the Raiders defense showed improvement in all areas over the last 2 games.
Winds of change are coming. That stat on the blitzes was shocking to me. We've all questioned, argued and debated the defensive scheme under Davis' watch.
Are we finally seeing a change in the defensive culture here in Oakland?
What other post Al Davis moves have you going hmmmmm? _________________

Josh Dubow

I just wish he wasn't so set in his ways. I like this team we have right now. Alot better then the teams of the last 10 or so years. _________________

So, no more Sam Williams scholarships again????
Very interesting about the blitzing. Will we see Coach Bresnahan's true potential? Will be good to see our defense be more aggressive. _________________ Cut me and I will prove that I bleed SILVER AND BLACK!!!! |

| crazy! good things to point out we also didn't give up 100 yards rushing to either Foster or Hillis. Yeah i think things are changing around the RAiders HQ so far its looking good. |

Run blitzing. It works. I'm not surprised that Hillis struggled, but I am that Foster did. Happy day. _________________

Im still dont like Chuck B. And lets be real for a second we havent exactly played great offense since his death. I mean we all know Al had his hand on the defense. No doubt about that. |

If that is the case why have we been hard on any defense cord since 1985. |

I think Houston's Offense is strong. Very solid QB and a great running game? We gave up miles through the air and we bent so much, but you know what we didn't break. Sometimes that's all you need. I'm excited for the D, we're entering the unknown as fans watching this D lol kinda cool |

All im saying is now he can call his own game and not have to worry about the big man upstairs. Hopefully he puts the defense in position to make plays. If not Hue can bring in his own guy in the offseason. _________________

We all know that Al wanted his players, and things ran his way, and while it was frustrating at times, it was his team and hes allowed to do that. Now hes gone and our coaches dont have to worry about him watching over their every move. Just look at the blitz numbers, that speaks volumes. There is no doubt that we wouldnt be blitzing this much if Al were still around. I am sad that Al is gone, but now our coaches can do what they get paid to do. I hope they keep it up. _________________
