As lion fans would you want Derrick Johnson to be drafted with the 10th overall pick?? (if he fell that far)
I my self wouldnt want him here because we got a good young nucleus with the exception of Holmes though still good but a lot of other lion fans say they would like DJ here. _________________

Well here is my take.
If we can land a FS/SS in FA then I'm all for taking the best player. If it's Johnson then that's great. It may allow us to move someone to FS/SS, cut a vet or whatever else they may think up.
I just don't wanna grab him because he's there if we have much more important holes to fill. |

I will be extremely happy if DJ falls to us. It will allow us to do one of two things:
A: Take him! We would then have one of the best front 7's in the NFL, which is, afterall, what led the Panthers to their Superbowl.
B: Trade down! Obviously, there are a lot of teams that badly want DJ, so we could probably pull off another browns deal. _________________ i like sitting and watching football |

This would be the ONLY instance where I wouldn't want to trade down. You don't want to pass up on a guy with the potential of Ray Lewis.
Here's the thing though: I don't think that nine other teams will pass up on him. _________________ Detroit Lions: Best WR core in the NFL

If he makes it to the 10th pick, as a primarily Vikings fan I will shoot my television set and run out into the world naked with a can of spam.
Do not ask, but that is what I do when I'm very, very angry. _________________ UtBDan:

No I watched the Bears play alot this year and they don't have anyone who knows how to catch the ball.
Muhammed just gives them a nice option but their WR core sucks.
I believe, very strongly, that they draft a WR with #4. |

| I think the Bears pick depends on the coach. I don't know much about him, but a lot of coaches want to stock one side of the ball before they work the other. I have a feeling Chicago will go with Braylon, but if not, look for them to take DJ. |

Bears are solid at DE,DT.
They could use a OLB to go with Urlacher and Briggs.
CB is a question. Tillman is a starter, Azumah is but durability is a question. Vasher COULD start but would be a better nickle/dime for now.
R.W. has fell off but still good in S.T.'s
S is a concern because Brown needs to be healthy. Green sucks, and their backups are not ready to play as starters if need be.
They could look OLB or S.
O-Line is a problem because....it seems to kinda suck.
QB is a problem if it falls apart again. A vet should cure that.
RB is a question. Jones needs to stay healthy, Train is gone so who is a backup?
WR is worse then Chernoyble. They could still grab a WR.
TE sucks too. The guy forgot what his hands do.
O could grab a RB, WR, TE.
Don't know for sure what they could do. |

There are two ways I see us NOT drafting Derrick Johnson (which would be a bad thing)
1. He is not there at #10.
2. We trade down because someone else wants Derrick Johnson.
Although LB is not the biggest need, time and time again proves that it's never good to reach for a need rather then draft BPA. Besides It would prove to be better for us if DJ is there if we draft him, then in the 2nd round selected Earnest Shazor or Brimmer. |

With the Lions going into next season with 5 outside linebackers under contract, it's highly unlikely that they draft an outside linebacker at all in next year's draft. Even if they move Lehman to the middle (doubt it will happen, he just can't take on blocks like Holmes), Detroit still has adequate OLBs in Bailey and Davis, as well as solid backps in Curry and Lewis. I don't think OLB will even be considered with the 10th pick, or at all in the draft. _________________ Footballs Future member #10 |
