If you don't vote in the poll it won't be counted since we have no way of knowing who did and who didn't vote.
Ideally if and when you post, give reasons not just the name.
If you think there is someone that should be on the poll let me know.
This is not who was best last year. It is who will be best in 2011.
1. Haloti Ngata
2. Justin Smith
3. Darnell Dockett

Smith, as you have to assume all will stay healthy. _________________

Do you not consider Mike Devito a 3-4 DE or is he just not on the list?
As for this list, hard not to say Aaron Smith. It's either him or Campbell. _________________

I'd love it if AA would be healthy, but as a dedicated Steelers fan, I am prepared to usher in the year of the Ziggy.
I go Calais Campbell |

I went with Aaron Smith but it wasn't easy.
Healthy he is no doubt one of the best. He just can't stay healthy anymore.
Also time for me to whip out the homer card. JJ Watt should probably start getting on the poll at least. Not saying he is up here or that he will even be in my top 10 (I'll have to think some more), but he's looked like a monster all during practice and in these two preseason games. I know he is a rookie and I know this is just preseason. I'm not saying he'll be the best, but the 3-4 DE just looks devoid of top talent to me. There are many good players, but no great ones. JJ Watt I can see being in the 9-12 area, so a spot on the poll is probably warranted. _________________

You know, I didn't hate Adam Carriker until he left.
Sure he absolutely sucked in the 4-3. But he didn't have to be a jerk and write that letter. (I can't find a link to it)
At least he is having success somewhere in the league.
Also, Justin Smith at number two is good. So kudos on that. _________________

Aaron Smith at 35 years old and coming off 2 season ending injuries? He's done IMO. Give me Cambell.
Also these polls are getting locked way to quick. _________________

| If this about who will be the best in 2011 - Marcell Dareus will be better than all of those listed. |

Wasn't Arizona's defensive line absolutely pathetic last season? I'm not sure how people think Dockett and Campbell should be top 4.
I'll go with the guy that has had consecutive pro bowl worthy seasons. _________________

Agreed. No rookie has warranted a spot on any of these polls yet, and shouldn't until next off-season.
Training camp and pre-season plays means absolutely 0. Watt has proven nothing at the NFL level as of yet, as he has yet to take a regular season snap.
It would be a joke to see a single rookie show up on any of these lists before the regular season starts. _________________

Except we are projecting for this year. What they've done in the past is only relevant to how they may do in the future.
Unless you're going to tell me NO ROOKIE has EVER been top 10 in a season then your point is invalid in this poll.
Name me 10 3-4DE's that no question will be better this year. Not in the past. Not who's best. Not who you'd take. Who will be better in 2011, definitively. _________________
