CM3 gets all the hype, has a ton of talent surrounding him, and is on the more high profile team, but I honestly believe Wake will have the better season and be the better player in 2011.
In 2010:
In 16 games, Wake had 15 Sacks, 28 QB Hits, 21 TFL's, 4 PD and 3 FF (Total of 71 negative plays)
Matthews in 15 games had 13 sacks, 24 QB Hits, 17 TFL's, 4 PDs and 1 FF (total of 59 negative plays) _________________

Clay Matthews is a great pass rusher and excellent in pass coverage, yet just average in run support. Cameron wake is a beast. That is all. _________________

I know the numbers are there, but i just love CM3's coverage ability along with his elite pass rushing numbers. I think he is a better triple threat _________________

Cant argue with Stats...
Think Matthews is a great pass rusher, but Wake has the overall more complete game....
Wake for me here _________________

Yet, the stats don't give a good idea of effective someone is in coverage, and I'd say Matthews gets a big bump over Wake in that regard. And for a 34OLB, coverage is very much a big part of making a player "complete."
I'm not sure how often Wake was rushing vs dropping, but I do know that Matthews was dropping into coverage for ~34% of opposing QB drop-backs last year. My perception, which can be skewed since it's just based on what I've watched, is that Wake doesn't get dropped into coverage very much. _________________ WORLD CHAMPIONS |

Maybe BlaqOptic can weigh in with actual coverage stats - mine didn't have them and I didn't buy FO's Almanac _________________

Rashan from the Packer forum charted every Packer player's coverage stats, which I believe were pretty consistent with most other outlets. I just don't have a link to Rashan's thread on hand. _________________ WORLD CHAMPIONS |

That'd be half the answer, still would need Wake's _________________

Oh I know, but it helps.
Well it would, if I remembered the thread. _________________ WORLD CHAMPIONS |

I think Clay Matthews will have a better year.. He may not get as many sacks, but he is a much better all around player IMO. _________________

Because Wake is better in run support?
GB had pretty phenomenal run defense for how bad both OLBs are at it supposedly. _________________

Per eye test, he was horrid at coverage his rookie year but worked at it all offseason prior to 2010 and it was never an issue during a game. Provided, he was passrushing the large majority of the time. _________________
