El Ahmadi's looked pretty good, and I like picking up Lambert (experience, depth up front) and Bennett (looks to be a decent young player with potential). We do really need another big-ish signing before the window ends though. Dunno where that could come from. I was hoping we'd be in the hunt for Adam Johnson, he'd have been a great addition for us.
I'm gonna give Lambert a pass for now, as we've had a lot of turnover and it makes sense that it would take a while for the team to really gel. I'm hoping that with a little more time, Karim will step up and be that leader that our team needs. |
Our signings have been great, it is everyone else. I think we are just missing that creative midfielder. Look at the West Ham game, we dominated them pretty well, we just never had that killer pass. |

Villa should be fine in avoiding relegation. Lambert needs time. _________________

Villa need a Defensive Midfielder more than anything, somebody who can break up play and release El Ahmadi to be the creative passer he is, Petrov is badly missed and we dont have a replacement for him.
Paul Lambert insists money is avialiable and its his choice to look down the lower leagues and abroad, He makes the football decisions at the football club, Read that in the Birmingham Mail on Twitter, so hopefully we get a few deals done today.
Striker Jordon Bowery is expected to sign for £500k from Chesterfield today also _________________

I read it was also accepted so we'll see on that one.
Cant argue with his quality, Proposed move to Liverpool and Arsenal didnt quite materialise, but while Villa are the bigger club in "Stature and History" than Fulham, Fulham probably are the bigger team "Right Now" in terms of they should finish higher in the league than Villa, so why Dempsey would join........not convinced myself _________________

I have faith that Karim can be that creative midfielder, with some time. He's looked good with everything going through him, he just needs to start creating more chances. We might be in trouble for the time being though, if we can't pick up someone who can be that guy right now.
...and I don't want to get my hopes up about Dempsey, but that would be a perfect signing. Slot him in where Ireland is, and our team looks worlds better. _________________

If Villa had the Dunnes and Agbonlahors, with Albrighton off the bench etc to go with our new signings we may have looked better than we have.
Vlaar and KEA have looked immense and already after just 2 games have come in and are 2 of our best players. _________________

Hes burnt bridges at Fulham, but despite Fulham and Villa agreeing a fee, Dempsey is still holding out for Liverpool... _________________

Yeah, not having Agbonlahor and Albrighton has been big. Still, need some depth there so our team isn't sunk by a couple of injuries. _________________

Warnock I honestly feel could be useful, especially with his versaitility....Hutton I can see us being stuck with _________________

Villa looking at alternatives for Benteke, both Villa and Genk are at a standstill in negotiations, the player wants to come and has been left out of their recent squads, but Genk demanding £10 Million upfront for his services.
Villa making tenative inquiries into alternatives, Vitesses Wilfred Bony been one of them. _________________

Hopefully this happens... Need firepower and competetion up front, Probably a much better day 1 starter than Bowery would be. _________________

The feeling I got was he is a similar (slightly less talented) version of Lukaku. _________________

I can live with that.
I also googled ashley Westwood and the only video that came up with him was this:

Clearly his diving is not PL ready |
