You must have been reading the daily mail, they regurgitate that story every week. _________________

He was the first average keeper that popped into my head. _________________

Honestly its not just the Mail that has been reporting that De Gea would be out as our GK next year. I mean Gary Neville has been one of his biggest critics in the past. The commentators love to pick on him every game, waiting he has one of those Joe Hart/Reina moments.
But if you know anything about SAF, you would love that he would't give up on the kid who he paid the most expansive transfer fee for a GK. _________________

Vidic is great against teams that like to lump cross/corners/thrown ins into the box, but he isn't back to the Vidic of old that could run with Strikers if you ask me.
Still, I wouldn't be upset if Vidic plays. |
Vidic of old?
Try Rio of old.
Rio has lost a significant amount of pace, and to be honest that was his strongest attribute. |
Rio is quicker than Vidic, but it is more the turning I was referring to, i.e when teams play quick pass in and around the box. Hip flexibility is key in those scenarios, and Vidic doesn't have it. Rio justified his selection anyway.

Rafael, Jones, Kagawa and Rooney were all dreadful.
DDG was a boss, again.
Evra, Welbeck and Carrick made positive contributions.
RVP barely got the ball and when he did he looked threatening.
Evans and Rio were solid.
The possession was abysmal from pretty much everyone. |
Haha, better than expected? How flattering!
Rooney was awful (both in Attack and Defense), Kagawa was weak on the ball, and Rafael was rash in the 1st half. 2nd half, Rafael was much better. As for Jones being awful - we must be watching different games. It was his most mature performance as a United player. Sure, there was a couple of occasions where he gave the ball away, but his job was to break up play infront of the back 4 and he did that fantastically. I actually thought he made a couple of very acute passes inbetween the Madrid Defense and Midfield lines.
In general given the circumstances, I thought it was a very mature performance and a very good result. If we go out, it won't be because of last night. _________________ 20 TIMES, 20 TIMES MAN UNITTTTTEEDDD

I thought Jones did a very good job as a destroyer, although he has absolutely no quality on the ball unfortunately. Carrick dissapointed me, offered little in terms of linking defence to attack although put a solid shielding shift in. _________________

I expected Welbeck to run around, chasing the ball like normal, which he did, only this time he scored a goal too.
Jones gave the hall away so many times it was like watching Sunday league, the running commentary in the champions league thread might help jog your memory. I nearly fell out of my chair when i saw the telegraph gave him an 8/10. _________________

Based on his recent appointment at the FA, it isn't really. The club have been planning for it ever since he took that job. _________________ 20 TIMES, 20 TIMES MAN UNITTTTTEEDDD

I hadn't read the article when I posted! Interesting hearing how much he and Fergie argued _________________

I may have asked you guys this already (I work 70+ hour weeks now, memory is a luxury), but does SAF call it after number twenty? Congratulations, by the way, you guys are untouchable this season. _________________

I don't think anybody can speculate when, but one thing is for sure that he won't retire after this year. Whether or not he get the 20th title, he is coming back next year. I personally think he is going to be here for another 2 years.
Earlier this year he was quoted of saying he isn't playing on retiring this year and "hoping to stay on for a bit of time"... whatever that means. _________________

I think SAF is going to die as the manager of United. I don't think he'll ever retire. _________________

Every United fan knows how much Ferguson hates Liverpool, and I think he is very bitter about the fact Liverpool have won the European Cup 5 times, twice more than United. Personally, I don't think he will retire until he knows without question he has no chance of equaling that tally. _________________ 20 TIMES, 20 TIMES MAN UNITTTTTEEDDD
