If he is available in the 3rd round and we haven't taken a back yet should we take him.
Scenarios...
1. D'Brickashaw Ferugson
2. Max Jean-Gilles
3. Greg Eslinger
1. D'Brickashaw Ferguson
2. Nick Mangold
3. Joseph Addai
Give me your take on which scenario would be better on Day One.
He's got nice size at 5'11" 210 pounds and he had a great Peach Bowl. _________________

I'd like the 2nd scenerio. Addai has all the tools he could be a good back. I don't think he ever really carried the load in college but he could split carries with Houstan. I think we should get a skill player on the 1st day. I don't really want us going all o-line 3 an 4 times in a row even though I wouldnt have a problem with it cuz its a huge need. _________________ "The young heart attack, I spit that cardiac."

Scenario 1.
It would be better to get the elite offensive line. We can give Martin an opportunity at another 1,000 yard rushing season. We can also see and evaluate Cedric Houston and Derrick Blaylock.
Scenario 2 would be a waste of a pick. Addai seems to be an average back to me. Houston doesn't strike me as an elite back either. I'd rather wait another year and then get an elite back. _________________

| forget about joseph adai.the jets might trade down and take lendale white and gain extra picks.I would think that lendale white is superior to joseph adai |

Rooter, as usual you misunderstand. I don't want Addai, I was asking what you guys thought because I personally don't really know.
I'll explain how I did the scenarios...
1. Jean-Gilles falls to us in the 2nd so we snag him. Eslinger should be available in the 3rd because Mangold will go mid-late 2nd. Thus we grab Eslinger, which I would love.
2. Jean-Gilles does not fall. I don't think Lutui is really worth our 2nd round pick unless we trade down. We select Mangold. The problem is, the 3rd round won't have a great selection of guards unless Charles Spencer falls to our selection. So, I looked at it, and seeing as Addai was more valuable than some of the defensive players I went with Addai. But I'm thinking instead of Addai, what about Steve Fifita? He's a prototypical NT. _________________

If we take Mangold in the second round and Charles Spencer does not fall to the third, we can consider Davin Joseph, a defensive tackle like Orien Harris, or receiver like Demetrius Williams. _________________

I would really like Scenerio 1. That depends on whether or not Jean Giles is available, if he's not than we should take Mangold. 3rd Round pick should be a gaurd but if there is better value at (in no particular order) NT, CB, ILB, DE, OLB, (if abe is traded), RT (if someone falls who can be better than A. Jones and move jones to gaurd), HB. I would love to solidify the O-Line this year and than place an Elite HB behind it next year. Tatum Bell, Ahman Green etc. were late round picks who succeeded but had a great Oline. Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, LT, could destroy teams behind a great Oline because they are so talented. _________________ Jets should save their 2007 2nd round pick or make a trade in order to gain another 2nd rounder next year to grab Brian Leonard...He'll carry on the FB tradition. |
