Though... since someone brought up draft rumors. Here are some (most not Chargers-directly related, but interesting none the less) I've been reading:
--Credible sources (read LaCanfora and Lombardi) are linking the Raiders to having interest in trading into the 1st to get Jimmy Smith; and speculation remains that given that only picks and not players can be traded and that free agency hasn't occurred, most are expecting that pulling off such a trade would cost Oakland their 2012 1st in the process most likely.
--Arizona looks like they may have an "understanding" in place with Marc Bulger. This doesn't surprise me as he was a target of interest of theirs last year, but the Rams obviously weren't going to trade him to a division rival, particularly when they didn't have to pay his bonus until the start of camp (which they cut him prior to... and after signing AJ Feeley). This means Zona is a likely candidate to go defense in Rd 1, and unless Von Miller is available, I'd wager this is Patrick Peterson's floor.
--Mayock's said that he knows of already 4 different "if-they're-there" deals in place. I'd have to wager that one of those involves New England with the 28th overall. And what's scary is... don't be surprised if trading the 28th selection in the draft nets the Pats something to the degree of a high 2nd round pick AND a future 1st if the team moving up to draft in that spot is targeting a QB. I'm seeing suggestions of Tennessee (Locker, Dalton), Jacksonville's another possibility (for Kaepernick, who they're said to be quite high on) if they take something other than QB at #16 or don't trade back.
--On the topic of Jacksonville, there have been rumors that Gene Smith may be high enough on Kaepernick to draft him outright at #16 if Jake Locker is off the board already. _________________

Kaepernick is actually my #1 QB this year but we all know how well my rankings do. ESPN is that you knocking to offer me millions for my trivial insights? _________________

Well every extra QB that goes in the top 17 means another chance the D front 7 player we are looking at will fall to us at 18. I still think JJ and Cam will be gone at #18, but I'm hoping LBC is right and one of them falls to us without a trade up.
Anybody think any other position is in play at #18 other than defensive front 7? |

Since there is technically no lockout, there should be UDFA _________________

Denver's rush defense still sucks. And the longer Dareus and Fairley stay on the board, the more likely the next tier of 5-Tech's are going to slide to us without AJ having to burn a 3rd (or worse) trading up to land one. _________________

| Next pick will be interesting. Gabbert or do they go Peterson? Or someone trading up? |

It's PP7. Known is was going to be him since yesterday... assuming Miller wasn't on the board, which he wasn't.
Cards have been linked pretty heavily to Marc Bulger and Wiz came out and said they were going BPA. _________________
