Just like the title says,

How long will the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft take?

Hours & Minutes.

Take a guess. Smile

Hopefully 3 hours. I wish they had shorter time in making the picks. I know the teams have to decide on making the best move possible, but if you have a guy at the top of your big board just pick who is the first one in the list. Laughing

They can stall for a while. I won't be able to get back and watch it until at least 10.

A lot of the time is spent looking around for trades, as well!

You guys remember when the 1st round was 15 minutes a pick? Those 1st rounds use to be 6 hours or so. Honestly, I didn't mind because the draft only was 2 days (at the time) of the entire year. Now it's 3 but I like it being slightly quicker especially waiting for your team to pick.

As long as possible, I love the draft, I love the excitement when trades are announced, and with the uncertainty of the Number 1 Overall Pick this year noone has any idea whats going on. I love Mike Mayock and the experts explaining the pick and why they are good/bad etc.

All reasons why I love the draft, I have no idea why any of you want ti happen quicker!!

Yeah and I would hate it if it was like 5 minutes a pick.... it only comes around for 2 now 3 days out of the year. If people want it to be shorter then just look at a draft tracker after the draft. Otherwise, estimate the time your team will be picking. If picks where one after the other it would kind of ruin the moment.

Actually I wouldn't mind the first round being 6 hours now if they just had the 1st round on day one like now. It's just that when they did 1-3 and 6 hours for the first round it was a long long long day (12 or so hours).

2 hours 58 minutes.
Just under 6 minutes per pick.

Although to be honest I wish it was still 15 minutes a pick. The draft starts at 1.00am here, so if it lasted 6 hours I could just do an all nighter and get straight up, now it's going to finish at 4.00am Sad
