| Quote: | | For nearly a decade, Eli Manning has taken the back seat to his brother. But now that Eli’s two rings trump Peyton’s one, the question has become relevant. Who’s the better NFL QB, Eli or Peyton? |

Career wise, Peyton hands down. Peyton was the OC as well as the QB for the Colts and he led that team like no other QB has been able to today. It's reminiscent of when the greats like Johnny U and Jim Kelly used to call their own plays instead of having them delivered on a silver platter.
However, if it's only from the past few years, the competition is a lot closer. Eli has won two Super Bowls since 2007 and although the defense carried the team a lot in 07 when the playoffs came Eli was on fire and in 2011 it was all him doing the work. Also, in 2011 he was the best QB in the league. I don't care what anyone says. People who didn't watch Eli spit out the routine three: Brady, Brees, Rodgers. Eli was better than all of them (closest competition being Rodgers). Eli is much more mobile than anyone gives him credit for, and even though people constantly complained about his run game and defense making things easy for him the year they were worse than they had been for a while Eli had a career year. Peyton seemed to lose a little of his stride in 2010, so it'll be interesting seeing who is better this year. _________________ GO G-MEN |

Actually it's not Peyton "hands down" anymore. Eli's closed the gap considerably. Not to mention he's in a better position than Peyton is to add another championship to his resume. _________________

Eli had a better last season than Peyton did in 2010.
That being said I'll go with Peyton to be safe. _________________

Actually yes it is. If were talking careers of course. At worst Peyton is a top 10 QB, most have him top 5, of all time. Eli is a very good QB but he isnt even top 25.
If we are talking right now only, thats another story... |

Peyton is slightly better because he is more consistantly accurate and is less likely to make an erratic throw. I think he's also slightly better at identifying pressure.
Eli Manning is the better Quarterback under heavy pressure though. For all the talk of pocket presence, Peyton Manning's progression gets noticably worse under heavy pressure. You can't say that about Eli Manning, in fact aside from Brees I don't think there's anyone in the league who even compares to Eli Manning in this regard. Eli can also do things like run for a first down, throw on the move, and makes slightly off-balance throws(though of course he can also get into trouble doing this) that Peyton simply cannot do. Also, contrary to popular belief, in terms of pre-snap responsibility and decision making Eli Manning's offense is a more difficult, more demanding one.
But no one other than Marino all-time can really touch Peyton when it comes to pure accuracy and consistancy throwing the ball. Certainly not Eli Manning. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |

If you mean over the course of their career it's Peyton IMO. Right now it could be Eli but it's not easy to compare them, or entirely fair to, when Peyton missed last year and is likely still recovering. It'll be interesting to see who plays better this season. _________________ Dallas Cowboys 2012

Over the course of a career it's definitely Peyton but Eli HAS to be better RIGHT now because of Eli's 2nd Super Bowl win. I think after a few games this year if Peyton is playing like is old, usual self than yes he's back to being better than Eli.
But it's unfair to judge right now because Peyton was hurt. Eli was always the better clutch QB though. I feel Eli handles pressure better for sure. |

Eli has definitely closed the gap and if can keep up his play for the rest of his career, make more playoff,NFC championship , super bowl appearances he will be better in my eyes. _________________
