with columbo recovering from injury, we might as well give him a chance at RT next year - why waste a draft pick to get another guy who is not proven when we have needs - i think a G is more needed than a T, especially youth considering that brown is old and tucker is injury prone and may be a cap casualty.

columbo would be an average starter at best. LJ Shelton has the chance to be a great starter. He's bigger, faster, and a bigger athlete. Now Columbo deserves a chance to compete, but that's all the chance he deserves. Beside Angelo wants a decent line now, not when Columbo becomes a praised average starter in 2 years. As for your take on the need for a guard, yes, they do need a guard, but should procure one via free agency, as for the draft you could get a chance at a decent one in the 4th-5th round, as it pretty much a push and shove position. A fourth round and a somewhat bust of a 1st round pick is a decent tradeoff for a good-very good young starter. The bears maybe should also give them a third round next year for him. Besides, there isn't a OT who is considered a franchise tackle in the first or second round. Barron, Brown, and Barnes are going to be excellent tackles for the nest 5-7 years, but there is no Ferguson(back in school) or a decent tackle in this draft to overlook a playmaker at WR, RB, TE for. I would rather have Ciatrick Fason, wiliamson, chris henry, shazor, burnett, morency, heath miller all over Brown or Adam terry in the first. Angelo should think playmakers this year and then pickup a prospective OT next year. And ruben brown is still a decent-good offensive starter.

The cardinals know that shelton is a helluva lot better than colombo, a decent prospect but an injury waiting to happen. And they also know that r-dub is not worth the 3 mil he's being given, so they foresee a cap casualty. Why trade a disgruntled, decent lineman for a broken prospect and a cap casualty?
