So after a very exciting game last night in Detorit where the Pens blew a 4 goal lead but won it in the shootout they have the Flyers next this Thursday. Watching how the Flyers are playing right now it's gonna be a great game. Very physical and lots of jawing, can't wait Twisted Evil

James Neal winning the shoot out again! Now the Pens are only 2 points behind the Flyers.

I don't remember where I've read it but apparently he trained really hard in Russia over the summer, like in no other off-season. If you mix Malkin's talent with the will,hard-work and dedication he's showed according to his personal strength&conditioning trainer, we're in for a nice surprise.

Again another good game by the Pens. Staal looked great. He had a sweet highlight reel type goal. Nick Johnson looked good as well. Englland and Lovejoy were impressive too.

I told you all that you'd regret hating on him... Malkin has been working out insanely since not long after his surgery.

"We'll be starting with everybody going on the trip that's part of our group with us at that time unless their rehab needs to be at a (different) facility," coach Dan Bylsma said Thursday after a practice at Consol Energy Center. "I anticipate that will be the case with Sid."

Crosby is not cleared for contact let alone to play in regular-season games at Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton next week. But he also won't be traveling with the Penguins charter Tuesday for mere moral support.

The Penguins are scheduled to practice twice and hold three game-day morning skates on their six-day trek that includes the season-opener at Vancouver on Thursday. Crosby would like to maintain a groove that has him feeling better than at any time since being diagnosed with a concussion Jan. 6.

"It's more just staying in shape, timing and stuff like that," Crosby said. "I'd like to keep that going. I'd love to keep that as consistent as possible. We'll see how things go, but the more I can do that, the better it'll be as far as adjusting.

Nice to see Sid coming along in the positive direction.

Yes! Can't wait.

SC, I think you, Random hero and I are going to be pretty much the only Pens fans talking in this thread. Very Happy

When do you think Sid will return?

I think end of this month!

Pens are in their line combos at practice. Here's how they look:

Sullivan-Malkin-Neal
Kunitz-Staal-Kennedy
Cooke-Letestu-Dupuis
Asham-Vitale-Adams
MacIntyre-Crosby-Park
(Jeffrey)

Martin-Michalek
Engelland-Letang
Niskanen-Lovejoy
(Orpik)

Note: Orpik and Jeffrey were running shifts as D-partners.

Sullivan-Malkin-Neal
Kunitz-Staal-Kennedy
Cooke-Letestu-Dupuis
Asham-Vitale-Adams

Martin-Michalek
Engelland-Letang
Niskanen-Lovejoy

I guess this will be the line and D pairings for tonight's game. Of course Fleury in goal.

Forgot about back n black. Sorry brother please forgive me Embarassed

I can see January. It's on the safe side and if we are playing well they won't rush him in. For some reason I just feel it will be sooner than later.

Pens getting 5 out of 6 points on their West Coast road trip is great with me. Homecoming should be sweet!

Quote:
Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been cleared for contact in practices, but there is no timetable for his return to game action.

Crosby, who has been wearing a different-colored helmet during practices, indicating he was not to be hit, was wearing a black helmet Thursday during the morning skate, the same as his teammates.

"I'm cleared for full contact," Crosby said. "It's a good step in the right direction. We'll see how it goes in the next little bit."

Crosby has not played in a game since Jan. 6 because of post-concussion symptoms. He has been skating with the team since training camp, and has not had any recurrence of headaches or dizziness.

There was no hitting in Thursday's workout, but Crosby said he was hoping his teammates will help him get back into the game.

"I might have to do something to get them to hit me," he said. "Maybe I'll have to bump them a little bit and get them going. As close to a game situation as we can get it."
