Fever Ray

Here we have an electronic artist out of Sweden. Karin Dreijer Andersson was recently brought to my attention for her Fever Ray project. Her voice and her beats are just hypnotic. Her stuff can be kind of creepy, but I don't think that takes away from how enjoyable it is. Give her a try.

Discography
Fever Ray

Favorite Songs:
If I Had A Heart
When I Grow Up
Triangle Walks
The Wolf(Yes I realize it is from a terrible movie)

Sorry for the short writeup, I was on my way out the door when I realized it was my day.

Any fans of Fever Ray should check out The Knife, her other project with her brother.

As you might be able to tell from the song choice, I love Let Go and The Weight Is A Gift. Never really got into "Popular", I actually think that's a pretty horrible song, but the band in itself is a nice listen. I wouldn't recommend listening to their releases outside of those two albums I love though, those releases are easily forgettable at best. They've got a new album coming out later this month called The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy, which II'm not expecting that much from but I do believe it's a got a lot of hidden potential. If it sounds anything liek good Nada Surf I'll be sure to let the Indie Rock thread know Very Happy

PML has reached perfect clarity of thought it appears. I wish I knew what it was to have perfect mental zen.

Schoolboy Q

Quote:
Quincy Matthew Hanley (born October 26, 1986),[1] better known by his stage name ScHoolboy Q is an American hip hop recording artist. Hanley is signed to Top Dawg Entertainment and is a member of 'Black Hippy' along with Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul.

He really came onto the scene last year when he released his free album "Setbacks." It was inconsistent but showed potential. He released "Habits And Contradictions" last week and it's pretty damn awesome. He goes through some different styles like weed rap, introspective, raw/agressive, etc. He has a really rapid flow when he's going with that style and he's very enjoyable to listen to imo. He has a lot of potential and I think he'll be around for a little while.

Discography:
Schoolboy Turned Hustla-2008(mixtape)
Gangsta & Soul-2009(mixtape)
Setbacks-2011(free album)
Habits N Contradictions-2012(free album)

Favorite songs:
Raymond 1969
^^Portishead sample

Blessed(Feat. Kendrick Lamar)

Hands On The Wheel(Feat. ASAP Rocky)

Awesome feature:
ASAP Rocky-Brand New Guy(Feat. Schoolboy Q)

I've been hooked on Hands on the Wheel the last week or so. I haven't been keeping up with new hip-hop artists since like 07, but I'm really digging Kendrick Lamar and I'm starting to find A$AP Rocky pretty entertaining. I just got Habits & Contradictions the other day, looking forward to playing it through.

totally missed the bump, thanks for the compliment on the thread. It became a bit of a chore tracking down people and keeping track of who was up on certain days, but i'd be open to continuing this in the future and like the idea of people continuing to use it as a resource. There are a ton of great bands in that 2nd post

And we're back!

I'm hoping to have some free time this semester so I'd like to revisit this thread. It's going to continue from where we left off, so no repeating artists!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A ROLE IN THE THREAD

Please note that this time I'm going to try and be more selective about who has a place in the schedule. This being said, if you were involved in the first go around and a consistent contributor you will get your spot back.

I'm going to pm some people on my own, but if you have interest in being a part in this thread pm me with
