do you guys see the new controller for this thing? that thing is a joke. is this their attempt at hardcore gaming? lol Nintendo seems so out of touch of what hardcore gamers want. the controller is HUGE and the right analog stick is above the digital buttons. a joke. and the games do not look that much more impressive than a high end PS3 game like KZ3. if this is what they have to offer this thing will look ancient when the new 360 and PS4 comes out. _________________

They're not really out for hardcore gamers. Their target audience is still the same, they just put in some games to attract more serious gamers. It's good that they have everything in HD and we'll be able to play online.
Great update to the Wii. _________________

Miami, you seem like you could care less about Nintendo anyway, so why exactly do you care so much to be seemingly so insulted by their offers? _________________ WORLD CHAMPIONS |

how much is that huge controller going to cost? $200? smh i feel sorry for Nintendo. i like the fact that they always try to innovate but don't pee on me and tell it's rain. they have abandoned the hardcore gamers and this thing is FAR from what hardcore gamers want. their whole press conference was a bunch of family games. which is fine but what happened to hardcore? a few 3rd party titles? lol _________________

Dude, think about it for a second. The Wii BLEW the PS3 and 360 out of the water and was TREMENDOUSLY successful. Why would they change the formula? The Wii had a few HUGE problems, IMO:
1. No online play. It was pretty crappy, and that's not acceptable in this era where video gaming has become more about online play.
2. No HD. Again, unacceptable. Nothing further needs to be said about this one.
3. Where were the games like Black Ops, Battlefield, etc? They either came out way later than the PS3/360 versions or they didn't come out at all. Plus, with the crappy online play, those games were rendered useless as they're not really single player games.
This new system has fixed all of those problems. _________________

If they released a console that was "for hardcore gamers" then they'd basically be releasing a PS3 or 360 clone.
Why would anyone buy one if it were just a console, generic gamepad, and games which are available on countless other platforms? _________________ WORLD CHAMPIONS |

This new system has fixed all of those problems. | yes Nintendo has been successful at what they do: make family games. i'm not arguing that. but this thing is NOT what they promised. Nintendo is a family oriented company and i respect that but don't trot out the Wii U and say "hey hardcore gamers, this is what you've been looking for!".
blind, if your controller breaks and you need a new one, how much is it going to cost? a 360 and PS3 controller is going for $50. how much is THAT thing going to go for? not only that the right analog stick (which aren't even analog sticks) is HORRIBLY placed. i'm sure it'll be successful for the audience that they buys their stuff but it will NOT appeal to the audience they set out for with this thing. _________________

I hope it drops the price of the Nintendo 3DS. I hear there are some awesome games in store for the 3DS (like Final Fantasy 5 and 6 remake, plus another Final Fantasy title, and another Pokemon game!) so I want them to rush the Wii U _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

Why would anyone buy one if it were just a console, generic gamepad, and games which are available on countless other platforms? | i understand that. Nintendo put themselves in a position where they'll probably never get those hardcore gamers they want and that's fine because they are successful at getting the family audience. stick to that. i already see in time 3rd parties will stray away from this thing again. _________________
