County Executive Chris Collins Confident About Extending Buffalo Bills' Lease With Erie County
The current lease is set to expire in the summer of 2013.
| Quote: | | Collins says he and the Bills have agreed that serious negotiations won't begin until the league and the players' union come to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, something which could still be months away. |

Will the Bills stay or go?
More of the same. There is optimism for a long term lease extension, but it's all just talk until it actually happens. We also have to wait until this whole lockout thing is over until a new lease deal is going to be worked out for the Bills. _________________

That is a pretty good read. Im going to have to disagree with Chris Brown's feeling on an 18 game regular season schedule, though. Im pretty confident we can get an extension of sorts in place. _________________

Poloncarz in search of ironclad Bills lease
A good read on what both sides are looking for as well as some general info. _________________

Hmm, Andrew Zimbalist, the sports econmist in that article seems to suggest that the Bills will only be in Buffalo for another 5-10 years and that Erie County should only invest minimally because they will lose out.
He does make some valid points. I mean the economy in Buffalo really isnt anywhere near some of the other markets, but I think him and many other people fail to realize is how true the fan support is here.
Also I never thought Id say this but, the economy is actually on the incline and there are a lot of projects now in the works in Buffalo. There is great potential here and Buffalo is finally starting to utilize this. _________________

I saw on the Hamilton news tonight that some guy wanted to move the team there, I literally think this story came about because of the lack of hockey news they could discuss on the show. He didn't seem to legit about it or seem to know what he was talking about.
However the article on the waterfront stadium complex intrigued me greatly. It almost sounded as if this guy would have the complex built regardless of whether the Bills agreed to played there or not. Which made me think even if the team moves within the next 5-6 years they would still have a top of the line stadium that other owners around the league may want to move there team to when their lease is up.
Also only having tax payers pay 30% of what it would cost I believe would be welcomed by most, am i correct in saying that? _________________

Economic opportunity in stadium complex
Rendering of what the proposed waterfront stadium in downtown Buffalo might look like:

^Looks incredible but where do we park?
Tailgating isn't going to be the same. I love having the stadium in Orchard Park, there's no other place like it. _________________ MY PS3 ID: Tyroz21

Yeah, there would definitely be pros and cons. Personally, I wouldn't be too keen on having a roof. _________________

I think we're forced to with it being on the water. The wind would get pretty crazy mid to late season. I like the idea of having a retractable roof. _________________ MY PS3 ID: Tyroz21

True... I guess either way the biggest pro would out weigh all of the potential cons put together: the Bills won't leave Buffalo if this stadium was built. _________________
