Go to the brush tool. Then click the part where yuo can select what brush you want. There's a button that looks like a play button on a remote. Click that and click upload and select the file.

Usually if you double click on a font file, it will ask if you want to add to font collection.

I apparently suck at text, and for the life of me, I don't really know why. Can anyone please direct me towards something that can help with text?
I have read the one on H-N but I need more direction. Fonts selection, which I have over 10k of them, effects, etc...
Any help is appreciated.

Srsly though, I'm terrible with text as well, and I'll take any random font and apply that formula. *poof*

Not always feasible if you are considering flow and what not. I have dont that numerous times, but I try to make the text slightly different then the last.
Its quite frustrating when someone tells you, "Hey great sig, btw the text is holding it back."
I am not pointing anyone out, but in general terms, a text can make or break a sig.

Text really takes time thats usually the last thing someone gets good at. It's all trial and error but most time simple text is the best text.
